Good Morning Halloween Friends! The last week of the month and Spooky Spring is indeed here. And this weekend is the Halfoweekend. In many ways it will be bittersweet for me, I am not only sad to see Spooky Spring go, but I am also sad to be leaving my job after 12 years to start a new job. This Friday is my last day.

Spooky Spring might be on its way out but I feel like it did a great job on giving us that little bit of Halloween / Fall time that I think we were all missing since escaping the cold grip of the winter and any associated doldrums with that.

Today begins my Michael Myers film marathon. I have no idea what "order" I will watch them all in, but I know that I am saving the original 1978 Halloween for Sunday. Lucky for me there are so many to chose from.

Have a great day, friends!

The final week of Spooky Spring. Time to go out with a bang. Or more specifically in my case, time to go out with a "Mmmmaaaaarrrrrrggghhhhhh" as I celebrate Halfoween with the introduction of my first classic movie monster this year, Frankenstein's monster. I can't wait to see what makes this fellow tick.

With another great weekend behind us, I'm looking forward to a great week culminating with an exciting Halfoweekend.

Good Morning Halloween friends, and happy Rudolph Day! It really felt like an October evening here yesterday with the pellet stove going and Michael on the TV. Looking forward weather-wise, we probably have two more nights of wood pellets from both a supply standpoint, and weather standpoint. There's probably no more pellets to be had anywhere by this point so late in the Spring, but buying wood pellets would feel distinctly "Bersy" so I may take a chance and see if the hardware store that I normally buy them from has any. Not joking - around 2 to 3 months from now, I will get a call that the pellets are back in stock and I'll start stockpiling again like I do every year. Even with all of the stress of having a baby last year, I still had two tons on the ground here by late September and still lamented not getting at least one more ton. But the mild winter we had, they would have just went to waste...

Folks, we're going to break into the 150's on our days to October count, TOMORROW! Have a great day and think some Halloween thoughts!

This Saturday will be the coolest weather we've had in a few weeks. Right now we're forecast to have a low of 55. Sadly, on Halfoween we'll be right back in the 80s again. I'll take one last gasp of cool weather though before we end up in the Sweatfest. I wouldn't be surprised if we made it into the low 90s before the end of next month.

Morning Halloween Fans! Well I hope all of you slept well. I went to the movies last night and saw some previews for some scary movies coming this summer. Kind of cool to see them come out. Have a great day!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! At long last we have finally broken into the 150's on the way to October! That just seems hard to believe!

It dawned on me earlier this morning, that I totally missed the Tuesday Halloween thought yesterday. I'm going to get to that in just a second, and going forward we will be back to hopefully having that weekly on Tuesday. So my apologies there.

We are 4 days away from Halfoween. It still amazes me how fast Spooky Spring has went by, and even where we are in the year looking towards everything that we look forward to. Under 100 days now until Fall Pre-Season. Under 130 Days until The Bers. In the 150's on our way back to October. WOW.

My Halloween thought for today is spurned by Edge's post about watching trailers for scary movies.

Very much like Halloween TV commercials, I think it is pretty awesome when you are in the movie theaters and start seeing trailers for upcoming "Halloween Season" movies. Awesome vibes! I get excited too for upcoming movies when the trailers say "Coming This Holiday Season"! Instant dose of the feels!

Have a great day, friends!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We're just one day away now from the start of the Halfoweekend(tm)!

I was thinking this morning about how last year when Spooky Spring ended, I was kind of sad for the first week or so of May because I really missed it. Last year I didn't start Spooky Spring until almost halfway through April. This Spooky Spring has been great. I have had a wonderful time getting in my fill of Fall & October vibes. And I think it just was made perfect when my Hobby Lobby put out their Fall stuff right at the beginning of April. That had never been done before there.

There's still three days to go of Spooky Spring, but I feel deeply satisfied. This is a wonderful addition to our all-year lineup of special times / seasons.

I want to finish out Spooky Spring strong, but I'm not going to lie, I have started to already find myself thinking of May and that "Road" being back open!

Have a wonderful Thursday, friends!

I plan to end Spooky Spring strong too. A couple of my attempts to use my pumpkin waffle for more than waffles have not been successes, so I am going to focus on jazzing up the waffle mix on Sunday-- mini chocolate chips and sprinkles (note to self, stock up on Halloween sprinkles this October)! Halloween pajamas are ready to go, and I have stickers and small prizes ready to go into the eggs for the Great Pumpkin Hunt. I have not broached the subject of having a mini hunt for Halloween because the weather is going to be a high of 49 and rain! Some Harry Potter and maybe a couple of Halloween cartoons and I will be all set!

Good Morning Halfoween friends! At long last, the Halfoweekend is here! And we couldn't ask for more "seasonally" appropriate weather! Cool and overcast with showers off and on. Very strong Fall vibes out there. I love it. We watched Van Helsing last night and had some pumpkin candles going, and you could really close your eyes for a bit there and really imagine that it was October.

Today is my very last day at work for the job I have had for the past 12 years. Today is kind of bittersweet. I am sad to be leaving a place that I loved but also excited to move forward to a job where I don't have to be worried about being laid off every day. I lost almost a year and a half of my life with all the worrying. Worrying over Holly and Abby was kind of the "happy worrying". This was not. I am ready to put that behind me.

Have a great day, Halloween friends!

I dislike that feeling of bittersweetness, but it is natural-- soon it will be onward and upward!
