Welcome back to Fall Preseason! I'm so glad we're all here! Today is a day that we have long waited for. I remember I started missing Fall over the winter at different times, but my soul crying out phase didn't really happen this year until we had that first stretch of days where it was 90+ degrees. It's still hot here, but we are getting the cooler nights and mornings again now, and for the past few days we have been losing about 2 minutes of daylight per day! Fall is on its way folks. And a big day tomorrow when we begin our "Final Thirty" countdown into The Bers.

You'll see now that we are down another countdown - We won't see the Fall Preseason count again until January 1, 2025!

I hope that everyone has a great day and really takes time to enjoy being back in Fall Preseason! I can't wait to watch football tonight! Have a great day!

Love this annual post!

It is now time to start preparing for the Halloween decorations. I want to buy some spotlights for the inflatables. The little LED lights inside of the pumpkin and ghost are way too dim. Same for the Thanksgiving and Christmas inflatables.

August is here!

August is strange month. The heat is still ever present, and many years we have our hottest days in August. Being a teacher, August also means Summer Break is nearly over. I have teacher work days in two weeks and then school begin. None of those things are really great. LOL

However, August starts so much more! August is the end of summer. It marks the start of football season. August is the last thing standing in the way of the 'Bers. For all of us here, August is the Fall Preseason. Thoughts turn directly to Halloween and all things Fall. We can all see how close the chilly mornings and evenings are. We take close note of all of the Fall items appearing. While we have seen the occasional items in stores, it ramps up from this point forward. By mid-month we should all be seeing a lot of Fall and Halloween items in stores. Halloween stores will open soon. We will be consumed with Fall and Halloween all around us, and we will love it!

From this point forward, Halloween music will begin to find its way into my listening time. By the start of September I will be listening to Halloween music almost exclusively. I will begin to watch some "light" Halloween movies. Clue is often my first season movie, and I see no reason to change that this year. When will I watch it? I am not sure, perhaps this weekend.

Everyone enjoy the splendor that is the Fall Preseason!

My husband said the same thing. They used to be so bright and last much longer than they do now.

Happy Fall Preseason everyone! Or as I call it....Halloween Awareness Month. Going to make a trip today to Michael's to celebrate. Have a good day everyone. We're standing at the gate!
I like "Halloween Awareness Month." I noticed on my way home last night that a house about three blocks away from me has a 10 foot ghoul up that wasn't there the day before. I don't know it it was new and they were making it worked and will take it back down or if it is there to stay.

I spotted the first pumpkins on my way home today! Just sitting on the back steps of a house, it was lovely to see! I can't wait to see the first Halloween decorations!

Hit Michaels and got some good feelies. They had a bunch of stuff out, but I get the sense there will be plenty more. Nice part is much of it was 40% off (never pay full price at Michael's kids!). Grabbed a couple candles since they were two for seven bucks. Vanilla Pumpkin and Pumpkin Pie. Also couldn't resist a skull that looked like Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. He doubles as a planter so he may be a year-round fixture.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The second glorious day of Fall Pre-Season is here! It rained a quarter of an inch here yesterday, we really needed it. It cooled down the temperatures and by the time the Bears game on TV, it felt downright Fall-sy. It was incredible hearing Football on TV. I changed out my outside garden flag and front door wreath to my autumn ones.

And I'm excited for the slow transition over to Fall here at this place. I anticipate that I will be totally decorated by the 3rd weekend in August - I'm thinking of doing Halloween lights the very last week of September. This is all so exciting!

You will see that today marks only 30 Days until The Bers are back, and just 90 days to go until Halloween! Spooky counts indeed!

Have a great day, friends! Enjoy Fall Pre-Season!

Good morning Halloween fans!

We finally received some rain yesterday evening and last night and more in store for today (hopefully). That will be bringing the temperature down going into next week. Not way down, but I will take low 80s and upper 70s with low humidity. The lowering of the temperatures goes along well with Fall Preseason.

We have not done any decorating yet. Usually that begins Labor Day Weekend. We then continue to add things into October. This was especially true last year because he had the Halloween Party. We are doing the party again so it will likely be similar this year.

When we go grocery shopping this weekend I will be keeping my eye out for Fall coffees. That is always one of the first things we get in terms of Fall "flavor." We are going to Warm Glow Candle tomorrow so we will pick up a number of Fall and Winter candles. So if nothing else, the house will begin to smell like Fall.

Everyone have a great day!

THE SMELL OF MUSHROOM!!!

I am so excited! I just got a last minute call to babysit tonight and one of my go-to activities is drawing spooky stuff on the driveway with sidewalk chalk! Halloween vibes for sure!

Is Warm Glow Candle a local store? Love the name.
