Hello Halloween fans!

Yesterday was a wonderful day outside and a nice cool evening. It is a little warmer today but going to be in the 70s this weekend.

Not much going on today other than football practice. Just working our way through August. Which so far seems to be going pretty quickly.

We're headed to Cracker Barrel tonight to check out more Halloween and Fall stuff. Dare I hope for a little bit of Christmas as well?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention -- the Spirit Halloween in town is OPEN now!!!
Our local Cracker Barrel has quite a bit of Halloween and Fall stuff out, and has since July. They also have a corner of Christmas stuff out.

Glad your Spirit store is open. I am waiting and trying to be patient for ours to open. Hopefully it is soon!

I have already started to watch a few horror/thriller movies this week. I tried to hold out until September but failed miserably. Oh well, close enough. Lol.
I started watching the old Friday the 13th TV series last night. I have the whole series on DVD. It is a good show, though a little cheesy at times. The stories are pretty good and interesting.

I use to love that show when I was a kid. If I remember, it was on Saturday nights here around 11:30. My mom used to let me stay up for it. Tales from the darkside was on after it if I remember correctly. The only time I did not watch it was when Saturday Night Main Event was on. Wow, haven't thought about that in a very very long time. Lol. I always had the Halloween love!

It was a favorite in my household. My parents really enjoyed it. I also really like Freddie's Nightmares. But it was not on for very long, only 2 seasons I think. But it was a good watch.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's Super Soggy Friday! Debby is just about out of here - Our warnings expire at 8 am. I have a couple of wet spots in my yard with puddles, but honestly nothing like I imagined. It's rained exactly 4 inches since the storms began. We are only 1.5 inches less than normal now for a "normal" precipitation year. We've been lucky and just had rain, and no wind. I will honestly be glad when this is over, because rain / storm / flooding events stress me out after what we went through in 18'.

You can see on our counts above, we're just THREE WEEKS until JOL DAY # 7! And The Bers will be here in just a hair over 3 weeks. It gives me the jitters just to say that. But obviously the big milestone here will be "DAYS TO OCTOBER" which will celebrate a 50 DAY MILESTONE on Monday!

My plan for this weekend is to decorate inside and outside for Fall! I usually wait until the 3rd week of August, but like I mentioned before, the anticipation is just too much this year. I'm still "torn" on when to begin Halloween movies and shows. I think that the end of next week might be a good time for that, since we will be only two weeks from The Bers at that point.

Have a great day friends! I hope all stays safe!

If anyone is still looking for the pumpkin pie M&Ms, you can get them at Cracker Barrel! I picked up a bag last night.

How are they? Well, I think most people will like them, but they were a letdown to me. As someone who loves pumpkin and pumpkin spice flavored things, these were decidedly light on pumpkin and more chocolate-forward. The "White Pumpkin Pie" flavor that they discontinued a few years back tasted much better and more like actual pumpkin pie. With these new ones, you barely get any pumpkin -- just a hint of the spice at the end.

I still ate them because after all, who doesn't like M&Ms? But I probably won't get this variety again.

Also, Cracker Barrel DOES have Christmas stuff out now!

Thanks! I'll head straight there after work. happy_jump_01.gif

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Saturday! We're all clear back here from Hurricane Debby. The hurricane itself gave us 4.02 inches of rain! 2.65 on Wednesday night / Thursday, and 1.37 early Friday morning. The yard here is totally dry now, no puddles or anything laying anywhere. That goes to show you how dry we really were.

We move along in our counts now, as we are on the second weekend of Fall Pre-Season! And we're heading towards the "Final Fifty" for days to October! I've tried my best to keep that count and the Days to Halloween count out ahead of me, but it's sort of a losing battle at this point.

My autumn decorations go out tomorrow here! Have a great day, friends!

While we were decorating today, I had to go through the Halloween totes and pull out the Fall decorations that we use for both seasons. 52 more days until we put them out.

Happy Sunday Halloween Friends! Today is a big day for me back here as my Autumn decorations finally go out back here, and I've decided that I'm going to "let it rip" with scary / Halloween movies beginning this coming Friday.

You can see from our counts above that TOMORROW will begin the "Final 50" to October! It's the second to last milestone day that we will ever have in this 2024 Thread. Our final milestone to be celebrated in this thread will be in exactly one month - and it will be the "Final 50" to HALLOWEEN.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

**MILESTONE DAY**

50 days to October.png

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's scary milestone day! Why is it scary milestone day? Because after today, we will have only ONE MORE milestone day in here, which is the "FINAL 50" to Halloween! Say it ain't so!

I've tried to keep the October and Halloween counts out ahead of me as long as possible, but at this point in late-ish summer, time feels like it's been greased.

All day yesterday felt like a beautiful Fall day. It only got to 80 degrees. The overnight lows are getting down there now in the low 50's. When it gets hot out, it's late and the day and only stays hot for a few hours before it starts cooling down again. That's how I know "our time" is near!

I hope everyone has a great Monday - I can't believe the HALF WAY point of the month is this week!!
