DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 20

Happy Friday! Today's spooky fact is that my sweet Abigale is TWO YEARS OLD. I remember all of the details of her birth, including the first harrowing days in the hospital. I also was able to watch part of Halloween II, which takes place IN A HOSPITAL, while in Holly's room.

It's cold outside. 40 degrees right now. I test fired the oil furnace this morning to take some of the chill off the house, which was 64 degrees inside. It doesn't run much anymore now because of the pellet stove, so I always try and let it run a little bit every so many weeks. That "burning dust" smell is so nostalgic! It means that cold weather / winter is really around the corner!

Have a great day, friends!

Happy birthday to little Abby! I can’t believe it has already been two years. Cherish this time while she’s still a toddler; soon she’ll be 7 years old and spouting sarcastic one-liners and you’ll wonder where the time went and how she grew up so fast.

Also…20 days until the big day!

I have mentioned before that I am the most spoiled mama in the world. Well, my children took me out to dinner tonight for my birthday. And those sweet children of mine went together and got me one of those huge pumpkin scarecrows for the yard. Guess you know what my first task is going to me tomorrow! I am so excited.
Happy belated birthday! I'm sorry I missed it. I was on the road traveling to our vacation destination. It sounds like you had a wonderful celebration with your family. So happy for you.

Happy Birthday to Abigale!!!

Tomorrow is the Great Pumpkin Hunt and here are some of the eggs, all filled and ready to go. I have about 90 more that I filled back in July with things like stickers and other small non-perishable Halloween things. I set up the tables and some of the decorations in the decor. I am going to make Baked Spaghetti and I bought some sub sandwiches from Walmart and then of course Halloween Candy!GPH eggs.jpg

What time should I be there? LOL.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 19

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Today might be the last of the borderline "hot" days. We hit 77 today and tomorrow might hit 80 degrees. 80 degrees in mid October is pretty far out. Early next week looks very cold, our first few nights that hit near-freezing, and only highs in the mid 50's.

We're having a birthday party for Abigale today at the park - My Dad rented us a shelter. We were supposed to do it last year when she turned one, but the weather turned cold and several of us were sick at that time. Today should be a wonderful day out there.

Have a great day!

Yup, got it up this afternoon, put in in front of a rose bush so it is close the garage and I don't have to drag a cord anywhere. It is pretty scary looking. I am delighted.
I find scarecrows pretty scary, even the so-called "friendly" looking ones.

I was supposed to go to the Honey Harvest Festival today, but the family members I was going with had to cancel so I get to stay home and get some much needed tasks done around the house.

My Utes got slaughtered by the AZ Wildcats last night. Utah had some players out, but basically the defense just didn't show up.

Took a ride up the canyon while listening to them play, but even at a high altitude, no sign of the Northern Lights.

Hello Halloween Fans!

Wow this month is flying by!

The weather is pretty decent today, a little warm but not too bad. By Monday we are supposed to get into the 50s which will be great! We will be back in the 60s later in the week, but still I will take it.

We thought about heading to a festival today, but we just have too much to get done at home. Certainly will watch some scary movies this evening though. Might try to have a fire tonight as well.

Everyone have a wonderful Saturday!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 18

Happy Sunday, Halloween friends! Day #2 of the three day weekend! And I've got NEXT Monday off too because I have to go to the dentist. So it will be pretty cool having two three day weekends in a row!

Our wonderful month of October continues today. We're reaching a high of 80 degrees. I'm going to mow the grass here, and I kind of wonder if it might be one of the last times for the season. It's grown back thick, but we have some nights next week that reach freezing, so generally, if there is not very warm weather after that, the frost usually stops the grass from growing back. I do figure on having a few weeks of using the mower to clean up / mulch leaves. Last year we were done mowing by Halloween because it had turned so cold.

Have a great day, friends!

Evening Halloween Fans! A bit of an earlier check in but I'm heading off in a bit upstate (a little over an hour away) to dinner and then my 2nd annual Headless Horseman event. This was so awesome last year with a great combination of everything. Happy Halloween!
Have fun, my friend. Happy Halloween!
