Great background for Halloween parties the weekend before Halloween, while dispensing treats to Trick or Treaters or taking the kids on the neighborhood rounds on October 31.
This is Halloween's Greatest Hits -- Part One.
In this hour (the first of two in this series), we open with some tasty tunes about candy from The Strangeloves and the kids from The Brady Bunch. We even include an amzingly lush take on the candy classic, "On the Good Ship Lollipop", performed here by jazz and R&B vocal icon, Ruth Brown!
We'll also jog listeners memories a bit with commercial jingle snippets from treats that likely filled Halloween bags years ago.
Musically, we feature the Halloween Hits and MORE! From cherished hits like "Purple People Eater" to "Monster Mash" to The Clover's "Love Potion Number 9", the 1965 Halloween rarity "The Lurch", by actor Ted Cassidy in his beloved Addams Family character, Lurch. Even the 1984 Halloween hit "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell (a/k/a Kennedy Gordy, son of Motown founder Berry Gordy) with background vocals by none other than Michael Jackson!
We also spotlight Halloween themed theatrical rock artists like: Alice Cooper, Screamin' Jay Hawkins and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown to name a few.
What a freaky playlist!
