The Wizard of Oz is one of my all time favorite movies. She does make a wonderful wicked old witch.....

I know what it is!
I figured it out, its because of the time change that makes me think of October throughout the year. Starting in March, when that 5/6 o'clock hour hits it is still daylight, and continues all the way through October. It just hit me right now, thats why when that hour comes I can more easily reflect on it being October. Nov/Dec its already dark at that time.
