This reminds me of the book, "The Dark Is Rising," by Susan Cooper. That's one of the first books I remember our teacher reading to us in 5th grade, during our "lit period." That class and teacher was a game changer for me.
Witches aren't usually portrayed as young and wistful, like what I see here. Or as calling to the good woodland creatures. I love everything about this. Wonder what the story is behind it?
When I was younger, I enjoyed the series HR Puffnstuff and back in the early 90's I used to use the witch's voice for my answering machine message throughout October.
Me too! I love hitting Michael's or Hobby Lobby during the holidays to see displays like this. I always want to set up my own--but I'm too daunted to start. So I live vicariously thought craft shop displays.![]()
