I have so much appreciated the previous postings I have been reading from people who love Christmas even more than I do. I really wonder why I start feeling ready for Christmas about February 15th. As a child I wasn't greedy. We had nine kids and never got what was on our list, but we were always happy no matter what we received. My best memories are of watching the world through the reflection in the big green and red glass ornaments. I grew up in the 60s, but we were poor enough to live 20 years behind the times, and I thank God for that. I have a lot to say, but will spare you for the time being. Thank you all for existing and giving me an outlet. :)

Welcome sheepsnot! I can relate to those hot southern summers! I'm about two and a half hours south of you in NorthWest Alabama! My parents were born and raised about ninety miles west of you!

I look forward more to your Christmas memories

sheepsnot explained

Many years ago I adopted the username sheepsnot because I found that so many names were already taken. I decided to pick a name that was not only unique but destined to remain so because no one else would want it. I lived in Scotland for 5 years and saw a lot of sheep. Also, because it was cold and rainy most of the time, I saw a lot of, well, you know. Hence the name. :o

 Welcome Sheepsnot, I got cow goober and pig slime all over myself once so I can only imagine what you experienced during cold sheep flu season.

 Anyway, I hope you will enjoy yourself here. And hey, don't hold back on the chatter, I sure don't. I love it when people share their holiday memories, it's often how we find our common bonds or pick up a few ideas for new family traditions, decorations or links to Christmas music, movies, etc.

8-) Bring 'em on! (Not the sheep stuff) - just your thoughts. :D

This is how it started, just about a year ago. My love for all things Christmas has grown because of a daily discussion of it. Familiarity does not always breed contempt. I have stayed with this site because of the love of the members for the topic and for each other. Thank you Jeff for this outlet and for your patience when I overreacted to certain posts and website anomalies. Tomorrow, when Erv reaches 2000, I'm sure he'll have a much more memorable post than this. I look forward to it. 8)

This thread has thrown me for a loop...doubt I can type any more posts until I've had some therapy
