Hello,
My name is Rhonda and I am having a hard time with Christmas this year.
My oldest stepson is in Marine bootcamp until January 16th. My Mom and Dad are not going to be here for Christmas (they live in Texas and I am in KS.) The stores have the audacity to claim that they are saving Christmas this year. What about the tiny baby boy named Jesus isn't he the real Savior of Christmas not just this year, but every year?

:hi: and :welcome: to the MMC Family Rhonda!

Merry Christmas!

Indeed Jesus is the TRUE reason for the season .

Rhonda,
Christmas is in our hearts. No matter who is with us, no matter what the retailers claim, Christmas is in us. We have choices. We can chose to be depressed or we can chose to do what Christmas is all about, "Giving" Giving does not always mean money and material things.
You don't say whether you have other children at home but if you do, please consider making this the best Christmas ever for them. And if there are not other children, then do it for your husband and yourself. Do it for everyone that loves you.

I do not mean to make this about myself but I have to make a point and this is what happened.
Growing up I always had a good Christmas until my brother went into the service and he was not home for one Christmas, he was in Vietnam.
My mother bawled around and made the home atmosphere miserable. My aunt told her to stop for she had another child at home (me). My mother made that Christmas miserable for me because she was only thinking of herself and who was not there. Instead of concentrating on her other child, she was very selfish and thought only of herself. Made me feel that she did not care about me and I was not as important to her as my brother. Mothers and Fathers are a huge influence in the home and in a childs world.

Please consider what I have said and remember it's not about the trimmings, it's about Jesus and His birth and His love and His compassion. The greatest gift was given by Jesus, we can give a gift too, it's the gift of putting the mind of Christ on and loving as Jsus loves.

I know you are hurting and I know change is very hard to deal with but the wonderful thing about people is we have the resources in us to walk it out and God always turns it around for good.

((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))
with love in Christ
