Joining in the Christmas Hoop Dee Doo with you, is yet another Christmas Fanatic. I live in south-central Missouri. I am miffed that our local Wal Mart didn't start putting out the main Christmas stuff until last week because of all the Halloween stuff-- aisles and aisles of it. I always smile as I walk down each row, but this year there was only one aisle of Christmas and all the rest was Halloween. I don't know if I can put it behind me. It's a good thing I can come here where there are understanding shoulders to cry on. Even my own family doesn't understand. I don't dare tell them I sneak a listen at a couple Christmas CDs starting in July. They would be ashamed of me. I bought a few gifts for this Christmas in February, and have been collecting stocking stuffers for 13 stockings all year long. I hope they don't find out because they'd lecture me harshly. Thank you fer letting me unburden myself. Merry Christmas.

Hello,

On re-reading my post, I realized I sound very whiney. I meant it to sound tongue-in-cheek! I was thoroughly kidding. Sorry,

TinyNedl

Welcome tinynedl! Howdy from NorthWest Alabama!

You're not whiney. We can't help it if Wal-Mart and the others can't keep up with our year 'round Christmas Spirit! The just can't seem to get with the program quick enough, can they?

Ya know tinynedl, if I had the money I would open my own Christmas Shop Around The Corner that would be going all year long. Christmas is just as important in January as it is in December to me. I have tons of Christmas movies downloaded on my computer and I watch them whenever I want. We are addicted to Christmas and the Christmas spirit and I guess hopeless to many but
isn't it wonderful to be addicted to such a wonderful time of year.

Welcome!

I totally know what you mean! I actually have christmas music on my mp3 player so no one knows when im listening to it! I did get caught one day listening to a x-mas internet radio station, but oh well, they understand how crazy I am about the time of year.

That pesky Wal-Mart

I can recall through the years complaining about how the holiday decorations show up in Wal-Mart earlier and earlier, but the truth is, I always look forward to them, especially after a hot summer in the South. I didn't take you as whiny at all.

:-) TinyNedl - you are not alone in your Wal-Mart anguish. I can relate to that. I can also relate to how your family doesn't fully understand your Christmas quirks.
I smile to myself whenever anyone new joins one of the Christmas forums I am part of, half of them start off with the same introduction of relief and joy.

I must confess that I am a former "closet Christmas lover" in that I only started to talk about Christmas throughout the year without guilt about four years ago.

Up until then it was only when humming a Christmas tune out of season that my secret was revealed - raising other people's eyebrows. Sometimes I'd "get caught" watching a Christmas movie or reading a Christmas book out of season, but that was with family so they would either look at me strange or chat with me about Christmas for a minute.

In the last four years and moreso over this last year, strangers and co-workers quickly discover my joy for the Christmas season lasts all year. I think being part of a group of Christmas Lovers has inspired me not to hold back any longer.

I have even discovered a few other Christmas Fanatics at work through my openness and we chat about it and play Christmas music sometimes while we are working. We drive a few people crazy - all in good fun on our part; I am the ring-leader there.

8) Welcome to the Christmas Fanatics Merry Forum. :D

Hi

Tinyned,
i so agree that it was sad that there was only one aisle. But tp let you know i never stop listening to carols. Why i've been listening to them for all year. In fact i am listening to them right now.. "there's a new kid in town, & he's lying in a manger down the road, there's a new kid in town, but he's just another baby i suppose... hevean knows, there is a new kid in town here in betleham..." Oh sorry.
