Sad, but true is right. I remember when we were a bit older and asked our dad to drive us up on the hill where the new homes (mansions) were so we could get better treats. Barely a light on in any of those homes. I was disappointed not because they didn't have better treats, but because they didn't seem to enjoy decorating for any holidays. We drove up there at Christmas too and barely any lights to speak of.
