The unexpected release shakes up the recording market for Christmas music in 2016 significantly. The new album will debut exactly 2 years after their last Christmas album was released. A Christmas album going double platinum is unheard of and it hasn't happened since Mariah Carey. She did it over a long period of time. They did it over just one season. Pretty impressive.
