I'm not a very good carver, but plan on having a wide assortment of designs this year. Most of 'em will be traditional jack-o-lantern faces.

We were thinking this year we would let the kids paint there's....I couldent carve a pumkin too save my life...lol

Thanks! That's great fun seeing the little ones pick out their pumpkins! Hope you get lots of pics and build some great memories.

We decided to paint those up that year so they would last longer. We usually have a small party at the house, and last year we had all the kids (and any adult who wanted) bring a pumpkin and had a carving party (I also provided some pumpkins if no one had one). Somewhere I've got some pics, there were some good ones. We love to sprinkle a bit of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice on the underneath side of the jack-o-lantern lid and when the candle is lit it really smells good!
