I have long been a collector of Christmas past. I had a collection of over 200 boxed light sets from various decades. Last weekend I stopped in a little antique shop in Tecumseh, MI and while browsing - found on a top shelf, pushed back and covered with dust -a wooden box. I pulled it down and discovered that it had paper labels depicting Christmas scenes. I bought it for $18.00. When I got it home I carefully wiped down the paper labels and researched the box. It was made in 1903 and held the first strings of lights available to the public. There are no lights in the box. My question is.... what is the value of this antique? It has a sliding wood door at the top and the labels are in good shape. I now have t on display in the den. Can someone give me more info about my antique Christmas find???
