For many years now, I find myself wanting the holidays more and longer, to me it’s the only time of the year I feel some sort of peace and happiness. Lately as I get older I feel the spirit leaving more and more. I listen to Christmas music year round and watch the countdown every moment until I see the 1st snow. Truthfully, I wish it was Aug-December in my life only. Does anyone else feel the same way? :celebrate:

Oh Paul, that's sad that you only feel peace and happiness in the holidays.....I feel you can try to do your hobbies and things you like to do...What do you mean the spirit is leaving more and more? That you get less satisfaction out of holidays? I'm glad you enjoy listening to Xmas music year round :)

I do love everything about the holidays, but there is a bit of fun with the lead in from the earlier months, cant pass up a Christmas in July celebration!

Welcome Paul. I understand how you feel.

For me it is important to have other things to look forward to during the year. I try to look forward and find things to ''celebrate'' within each season. Simple things like sitting out in the garden till late on a summer's evening with a good book.

These things help to distract from the long wait and when the season finally arrives I am excited from the anticipation and every seasonal activity feels ''new'' again.

When I do need a Christmas fix though , coming here is great :) it's like a little secret Christmas retreat .......

Welcome to MMC, Paul! Hang out here with us. You'll keep the spirit all year long! cheesy

:!! Hi there Paul.Marshall, welcome to MMC! I know exactly just how you feel.... :celebrate:

I love Christmas time as well and wish I could skip summer all together. In our house we have one Christmas decoration that stays up all year, it is a Santa head wall decoration. It helps to keep the room bright with Christmas no matter the time of year. Plus, with a 5 year old, it is a great way to remind him that Santa is watching all year 'round.

Hello and Welcome to MMC!!! Yes I feel the same here but I do love every season not only holidays. You have to make yourself comfortable in every season rather than holidays. Apart from that I also love Christmas music.

Welcome and Merry Christmas!!!

I get what you're saying. We just purposely focus on Christmas. So if we get to missing the season, the DVDs come out, we already have the music on computer, the car, work, and we look at ornaments online. if you like handcrafted ornaments, now may be the best time as there is not much competition. Christmas in July is about to start. Many performers have announced agood amount of Christmas shows. We're testing recipes now in hopes that we can roll out new stuff in season. Numerous little ways to keep focus. Enjoy some early (never ending) Christmas!!! I hope it helps.
