I have not tried to let some of these thoughts creep in, but many things about Fall are coming up. Maybe they can do a retrospective of the evolution of the balloons through the years, it wouldn't be the same I know but I can't even imagine they would deprive us of something parade-adjacent!

That's actually a great idea. Just show highlights from the last many parades too. I'd be down with that. But again...it's not definitely a no go yet. It's still 7 months away. Maybe there is a way they can do it even if it's with less of a crowd than usual but still people there and all the floats. Let's see what happens. These days you gotta take 1 day at a time more than ever because so much can change (for the good or the bad) with this virus on a daily basis.

Just as I posted the news yesterday look at today's news. Told you things change daily. Now it seems the fireworks WILL go on...whether it's with half the amount of people or less (or even very few allowed in) it will happen.

Now if Macy's is that dedicated to putting on the fireworks show I wonder how they will feel about the Thanksgiving Parade? Of course even from 4th of July that's 4 and a half months AFTER which could be a good thing (things could be better by then) or even a bad thing (the virus could return worse). Just glad they decided to put it on. Certain things should go on and I'm hoping they feel that way about the Thanksgiving Parade. Time will tell.

I agree certain things should go on and I think even if they are different we will find a way to celebrate and enjoy the things we love! The news is kinda like the weather in Illinois, if you don't like it now, just wait, it will change soon enough!

That's kind of what Macy's is saying when they heard the mayor say it looked doubtful they could have 4th of July fireworks...the next day Macy's says we will have it one way or another. It might be a little different than normal but we will keep the tradition going!

COUNTDOWN TO THANKSGIVING 2020: 217 DAYS
COUNTDOWN TO NOVEMBER 2020: 192 DAYS
COUNTDOWN TO THE BERS 2020: 131 DAYS

Happy Latter April! It's THURSDAY! It's our day here in this thread. Let's get to the counts first. 217 days to Thanksgiving. 192 days to November. 131 days to the Bers. In 3 days we will reach our 5th "26th". WOW! That happens on Sunday. But what happens TODAY? Our Bi-Weekly poll. This poll was inspired by the fact at how we always talk about FOOD when it comes to Thanksgiving but what about DRINK? You can't eat without drinking (at least I can't).
What do you drink on Thanksgiving Day?
A.) Water
B.) Soda
C.) Alcoholic Beverages
D.) Coffee/Tea
E.) Other not listed
My answer(s) are B & D. With our main meal we drink soda. With dessert/breakfast that day we have coffee. I do drink water every day but I'm not picking A because it's not with a meal or anything just in between. What are your answer(s)?

Almost forgot but since it's Thursday time for the WEEKLY countdown to Thanksgiving. We have 31 weeks till Thanksgiving. NEXT THURSDAY is the next BIG day after Sunday as we say farewell to April PLUS hit the big 30 "weeks" till Thanksgiving PLUS our own CW does his bi-weekly video post. That is going to be a huge day. Have a great Latter April!

I have milk with my Thanksgiving meal. I'll have a soda when eating leftovers.

COUNTDOWN TO THANKSGIVING 2020: 216 DAYS
COUNTDOWN TO NOVEMBER 2020: 191 DAYS
COUNTDOWN TO THE BERS 2020: 130 DAYS

Happy Final Friday of April! This month has been quite the month. Our 3 counts this morning are as follows: 216 to Thanksgiving; 191 to November; 130 to the Bers. Sunday we will reach our 5th "26th" of the countdown. After that we'll talk about next week and how huge it will be. It will be the turning point in this count in many ways. That hill we're climbing up we are starting to get closer towards the top. Once we hit the top I'm afraid at how fast the slide down will be. Is it too early already (in late April) to want it to slow down? Maybe not. Maybe Corona has helped the world slow down in a strange way too. A gloomy chilly Friday here. But the promise of a nice Saturday ahead so we'll take them when we can get them these days. Warmer weather some day will be here. At least no worries about using AC early this year. Have a great Final Friday of April!

COUNTDOWN TO THANKSGIVING 2020: 215 DAYS
COUNTDOWN TO NOVEMBER 2020: 190 DAYS
COUNTDOWN TO THE BERS 2020: 129 DAYS

Happy Last Weekend of April! This month has moved. It's been chilly here. It's not been very nice weather. But today is a beautiful sunny day. And what else is beautiful here is these 3 countdowns this Saturday morning. We have 215 days till Thanksgiving. We have 190 days till November. We have 129 days till the Bers. TOMORROW on Sunday we hit a milestone as we reach our 5th "26th" of the count. Can you believe that? And after that well...I'm gonna have to lay out what comes after that tomorrow. You don't want to know trust me. Actually you do want to know...it's just almost too exciting to handle what the month of May will bring. It's unreal. And it will be the turning point month of this entire countdown. That's a lot of pressure on May but trust me it will deliver that. Any turkey this weekend for anyone? We're actually having empanadas tonight which should be good. Have a great Last Weekend of April!

My heart pangs when I think of the possibility of there not being a Thanksgiving Day Parade this year. Or a Christmas parade this year.:eek::eek: Oh, this is too much! ** Change the subject **
This morning was quite cool outside here too. Very Fall like. I had my heater on in the truck while driving to work this morning. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's poll. :)

I'm going to make a bold prediction....there will be parade. It will look different, but it will happen.

I hope so. I really do with all my heart. But if a round two comes??? The parade is held in a public place with no control over the crowd size.
Well let's hope we have better medicine to treat it IF/when round 2 arrives...that's why these doctors are working tirelessly so that we have more of an answer the next time if it hits and can treat people a lot faster/more effectively.

COUNTDOWN TO THANKSGIVING 2020: 214 DAYS
COUNTDOWN TO NOVEMBER 2020: 189 DAYS
COUNTDOWN TO THE BERS 2020: 128 DAYS

Happy So-What Sunday! Every day is Sunday isn't it? That's how it feels the last 6 weeks. But today is the REAL Sunday. And it also is a REAL milestone. That milestone is that it's our 5th "26th" of the count. 5 down and 7 to go. Now later I plan to post something about what's coming in the next month or so. A LOT is going to happen starting coming up this week and I'll try to lay it out for you. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. We have 214 days till Thanksgiving. We have 189 days till November. We have 128 days till the Bers. I laid out all 3 of those countdowns. BAM. That's how we do it here in the Thanksgiving Thread. I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday as best as possible. I wish the weather were nicer here like on Saturday but hey it is what it is. Happy Sunday Everyone. Have a great So-What Sunday!
