Thanksgiving 2023 Thread

I am going to enjoy each day and do an extra chore because once we hit single digits, it will fly!

I don't either but I still don't feel it is the same amount of time as now. Even though it is.

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 47
Happy Mid-September! Today folks we have 69 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 47 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be when we reach the Arrival of Autumn which will happen in 8 days. We move along in our own version of Awesome Autumn and begin our 3-day quiet weekend here in this thread. I actually am trying to have a quiet weekend here. October is going to be booked on weekends with lots of activities. So I’m purposely trying to lay low in September. And it looks like I might really have a very low-key Saturday evening and Sunday. I’ll take it if I can get it but in this thread we always get a low-key break. A lot of fun 4 day topics. And I hope you like all 4. I really don’t see any one of the 4 topics changing. But if you have any ideas to add/change any of the days you let me know. Because I enjoy anyone’s ideas of course. Now turkey fans I hope you are enjoying your Friday and your weekend ahead which is approaching. And I hope you all enjoy this time with your family and friends this weekend. No matter what your plans are whether they be small or big just enjoy it and have fun with it. There’s always got to be plenty of time to have fun and play games right? Have a great Mid-September!

TGIF!! i seriously am ready for the weekend to start. Making Mexican street corn tonite with hotdogs. Takes a bushel basket to feed all these people..lol Sunday I start packing for a elk hunt.

What kind of elk do you get to hunt? That sounds strange but here, they have different categories: trophy, cow, regular buck, etc.

Happy 2nd Half Of September! Today folks we have 68 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 46 days to go until November. Our next milestone happens 1 week from today. You all know I love milestones but Saturday Milestones are always even a little extra awesome. That milestone will be extra, extra awesome because it will be the official Arrival of Autumn. It definitely felt like Autumn here on Friday. Temps didn’t make it to 70 here. It was cool. Sun was out which was nice but I was almost thinking borderline jacket weather (especially in the AM). But I’m still holding on to my shorts right now. But another week or maybe 2 tops I think it’s time to change. Right now though folks we move along in our Awesome Autumn feeling good and feeling fine. And we are enjoying day 2 of 3 in our quiet weekend period. And this is the best of the quiet weekend period. It is the most awesome day. It’s Saturday. I love all 7 days for their own individual aspect but still Saturday is my favorite day of the week. Turkey fans I hope your weekend has gone ok and that you’re doing well today here on this weekend. And just enjoy your day today no matter what your plans are quiet or rather busy (or a mixture of both). Have a great 2nd Half Of September!

Happy Saturday! This morning, at 48 degrees, it easily feels like Halloween or Thanksgiving morning. Right on the edge of being cold enough that you would need a sweat shirt. The window AC here is probably going to come out at the end of the month and go into the shed to hibernate until Spring / Early summer. And that makes me excited.

Our next milestone will be on Saturday when we welcome in the official Arrival of Autumn. Big. We move along in our version of Awesome Autumn here in Day 3 of 3 of our quiet weekend period. Definitely a quiet weekend here. This might turn out to be the quietest weekend I have the rest of this year. We’ll see though. Then I’ll think about hibernation in January lol. Not wanting to get there though folks. We are in a great spot and the Sweet Spot still here on this Sunday. And still being in September. And a big milestone in the week ahead at least next weekend. Definitely love Saturday Milestones as I always say. And folks we will have our big 4 topic days coming up very soon starting Monday and going through Thursday. We always do that here and everyone seems to enjoy them. Turkey fans I hope you enjoy a little football today so you think about all those turkey dreams. Happy Sunday to all! It's a cold (56 degrees) and rainy day here today, we needed the rain so bad, as we are finally getting out of our drought now that regular rains have returned. It's a good day to relax inside, do some cleaning, walk around at Lowes later to look at the decorations, and then retreat inside this evening to enjoy Football. We're in the best time of the year, now, no doubt about it. Have a great day!
