Well, the Bers End Feast was a success. The turkey was just perfect, and I whipped up some gravy from the pan drippings that was just heavenly. Everything else was delicious too. The only setback was that I forgot about the tryptophan effect...not so great when you're trying to stay up until midnight on New Year's Eve! Next year I might need to make a different main dish.
That old sleepy turkey symptom always gets me.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 326
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 304
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 243

Happy New Year! Today folks we can officially say THIS Thanksgiving. That’s right we have turned the calendar to 2023 for the “2023 Thanksgiving Thread” and will not leave this year until we get to experience Thanksgiving and all The Bers again. Now to start off the new year what do our counts look like? I’m glad you asked. They look like the following: 326 days until Thanksgiving, 304 days left until November, and 243 days remaining until The Bers. It’s milestone day folks as we welcome in January. That’s right we have completed a full month now (and start our 2nd month today) on our 11-month journey back to November. Absolutely fantastic folks. That’s all I can say about that. Our next milestone will be our 300-Day Marker Till November and it is only 4 days from now folks. That’s right. It will happen this first full week of January. And it will happen on a Thursday. Doesn’t it seem like most of our milestones happen on Thursdays? I guess because we have Tom Turkey Day also. But anyway our quiet 3-day weekend in this thread continues and concludes today. Rub your eyes if you are tired from a late night. And try to relax, enjoy and have some fun today. We’re going to an escape room to start the new year (we’ve been to 3 and had fun each time). And then back to my Uncle’s for our usual weekly Sunday fun. And folks today begins our 2nd section in this thread believe it or not as we have entered our Winter Wonderland period of time. It’s going to last a long time folks 2.5 months actually so settle in this winter, stay cozy, and no matter what the weather is we’ll enjoy our winter time as much as we can. Make sure you get to see some leftover Christmas lights also when you get the opportunity to do so. Have a great New Year!

Happy New Year all. I guess today is a pork day rather than turkey. We actually skip pork and sauerkraut and make kielbasa and sauerkraut which the family likes better. I will be going to my step families for brunch today so we are going to make the kielbasa and sauerkraut tomorrow since we are still off tomorrow.

I love kraut! I always have to make mashed taters with it.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 325
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 303
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 242

Happy Post-Holidays! Today folks we have 325 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 303 days to go until November, and 242 days remaining until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Thursday (as usual) with the 300-Day Marker Till November. And that will be big folks because then we’ll be downgrading our 3’s counts to only Thanksgiving. Pretty amazing isn’t it so soon? We continue in the (extremely) early stages of our Winter Wonderland portion of this thread by moving ahead with our weekly Monday thang known as our Countdown Till Thanksgiving Week. We now rest at a comfortable 46 weeks folks. The count moves down by 1 this week. It normally does that on Mondays. We look ahead here into a new week folks. Normalcy is returning. Thanksgiving kind of was our first hint of things to come that we experienced and fell in love with in the month of December during the holiday season. It was all because of Thanksgiving folks. You know it. I know it. And everyone in this thread knows it. Even if others outside of this thread don’t recognize it we do. We KNOW. And I’m very thankful for Thanksgiving not only bringing me the most amazing day of the year but afterwards the most amazing season of the year (the holiday season). And I think we should all thank Thanksgiving for it as we get back to our normal lives now. Keep it real turkey lovers and be proud as to what our beloved Thanksgiving did for us. Have a great Post-Holidays!

Got us some extra frozen nog this year to enjoy.

Odd feelings this morning thinking about how "far away" Thanksgiving feels. I seem to do better dealing with the long year in little chunks of time.

Thanksgiving always brings us so many wonderful moments. 2023 should be no different!

Amazing how everything feels so "normal" when we're not riding the high of the bonus months anymore. Can't wait for that special Bers feeling to return.

For now, it's time to resume my daily search for any and all Macy's parade news!
