Almost time everyone! Tried to find some turkey wings yesterday and it was a No-Go. We had just a few items to get and I regretted it.
I actually saw some turkey wings at fresh tyme on Sunday surprisingly. That was the only place around my area that I saw them this year. I will be smoking turkey legs as our left over/second Thanksgiving dinner this coming weekend. They were much easier to come by.

I just finished cooking the turnip, rutabaga, and squash. Blended the turnip and rutabaga together with some cultured butter, salt and pepper. Blended the squash with butter and a little maple syrup. I also made my cranberries. Three down down, many more to go. Early tomorrow, I'll make the lobster mac & cheese and the greens. Then I'll start on the pies.

I haven't slept well this week. Too much health things on my mind, but I won't sully up this uplifting, happy thread with health issues.

Sending prayers that the health issues you are struggling with resolve themselves.

The excitement is mounting and I finally feel like I have an open field until Thursday. Anything I get done today/tonight will just make tomorrow better, and hopefully I can keep it all rolling.

Thanksgiving Build Day 4 of 5:
It's Tuesday. Similar to Monday it was such a different feeling Tuesday. Here we are almost to another Thanksgiving. But the feeling out there is just different. There is something in the air. It's building. It definitely builds on Tuesday. That's become like the day before the big duo days coming. Thanksgiving Eve is part of that duo. It will be tomorrow. I can't believe it. I probably think about Thanksgiving Eve more often than anyone else in this world. Seriously. I was thinking about it today and how I wait all year for it. And today felt like the setup for it. Pouring rain tonight but will dry out by sunrise and be a nice milder day for Thanksgiving Eve. I'm getting ready to get my breakfast per tradition for everyone. Tuesday was the setup. Happy Thanksgiving Friends!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 1

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Today folks we move into the final day before THE DAY. It’s Thanksgiving Eve my friends. So our countdown until Thanksgiving is now at 1 lonely day. Our next milestone is tomorrow and is the ultimate day and the reason this thread exists: Thanksgiving Day. And folks today is our FINAL DAY of our Awesome Autumn. Sad? Yes. But tomorrow you know what begins? Of course you do. And folks with today being Wednesday I have our Weekly Wednesday Poll for the final time in this thread.

Which of the below best describes Thanksgiving Eve?

  • It’s the most underrated day of the year.
  • It’s not that big of a deal (it’s all about TOMORROW Thanksgiving Day).
  • I like Thanksgiving Eve a lot but wouldn’t put it in my top 10 days of the year list.
  • Thanksgiving Eve links to Thanksgiving Day the same as Christmas Eve links to Christmas Day.
  • I’m really torn today folks. You know me and you know it’s not B or C for me. A is 100% true I feel. And D? Honestly, I know some people might say you can’t compare Thanksgiving Eve to Christmas Eve. And I kind of get that. I’m stalling here in case you didn’t notice. A + D are both right but if I can only pick one which is the most accurate I’ll go with A. It’s the most underrated day of the year because nobody talks about it and I love it so much. D? I think it’s possible but Thanksgiving Eve is more preparation for Thanksgiving Day while Christmas Eve for many people is the EVENT. That’s the only reason I think I’m sticking with A. What about you? Tonight my turkey friends I’ll have my Day 5 thoughts about how my Thanksgiving Eve went. Hope you will share yours as well. Gobble Gobble for one more day before THE DAY. Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

I'm all aboard the "A" Train this morning. I remember a few years ago before landing at MMC I never really gave much thought to today. But here we are and everybody on here knows that today is a hugely under-rated day. And this might seem mundane, but tonight when I go to sleep, it might be the best sleep of the entire year. NOTHING is on my mind except for happiness and joy. I wish we could all be like that every day.

Have a great day!

I’ll go with A for the same reasons that Edge mentioned. Christmas Eve really is an event unto itself, while Thanksgiving Eve is mostly prep. But…it is very underrated prep! I don’t think I’ve ever enjoy prepping so much!

Tonight it’s time for Garfield’s Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

Picked up our 24 lbs turkey yesterday, did a bit of last minute shipping at the market (wine needed!), and baked the cheesecake with my four year old grandson. Today, dear wife takes over by preparing her famous stuffing. My newlywed son and his wife should be arriving this evening.

Tomorrow is going to a great day!!!
