I do appreciate the reliability of certain holidays. Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday. Halloween, while not always the same day of the week, is always on the 31st of October. Labor Day is always a Monday. Christmas Day is always the 25th.

What I DON'T like is that Easter is not one of those reliable holidays. It's always on a Sunday, of course, but which Sunday? "The first full moon after the spring equinox." Ok, but that could span anywhere within an entire month! Easter deserves better.

Happy Tom Turkey Day! Gobble gobble! For this TTD I am testing out Chicken Taquitos in the air fryer as a possibility for Appsgiving.

Easter changes a lot!

Easter DOES deserve better.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 125
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 98
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 37

Happy Chilling July! Today folks we move along and see that we have 125 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 98 days to go until November, and 37 days left until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone being the Arrival of August on Thursday. That’s a bit of a way off right now though so let’s do our Fun Fact Friday which we do every single week!

In 126, President Calvin Coolidge was gifted a live raccoon, which was intended to be on the table instead of a turkey for the First Family’s Thanksgiving meal. He and First Lady Grace Coolidge weren’t inclined to eat the masked creature, however. Instead, they adopted the raccoon, gave her the name Rebecca, and kept her as a White House pet.

I think that’s a cool story and I never heard that before. I wonder how a raccoon is as a pet. I guess I’ll never find out as I think the only pet I could ever have is a dog. But I’m glad the raccoon was very happy with their decision at the time. Turkey friends I wish you the best here on this Friday. And I know we’re all looking forward to a summer weekend coming up soon. For now, we focus on Friday. Have a great Chilling July!

I have never heard that story before! I can't believe someone thought it would have been a good idea to eat a Raccoon for Thanksgiving dinner!

Happy Friday to all - The weekend is finally here!

I've never eaten a raccoon before, and I don't think I know anyone who has. I'd rather have the turkey as well. Michelle had a pet raccoon when she was a little girl. She says he was a great pet but didn't get to keep him very long. He kept tearing things up. So they took him to the State Park and released him.

Did anyone else see the news report from Boston about the huge wild turkey that attacked a bunch of cars? They think it was because he could see his reflection in the cars and thought it was another turkey. And did you see the beard on that Tom, it was really long.

I did not but I think I will be looking it up!

That turkey needs roasted.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 124
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 97
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 36

Happy Final Weekend Of July! Today folks we move along and see we have 124 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 97 days to go until November, and 36 days left until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest without a milestone this weekend. We have one next week on Thursday when August Arrives. And we move int our Quiet Weekend Period now feeling good. It was a beautiful Friday here and felt like September. The best. I love that kind of weather especially when you get it mid-summer as a tease of what’s to come. Kind of like mid-winter when you get a real warm day and you feel like wow spring is going to feel great. Turkey friends I wish you all well here on this Saturday. The weekend is here and we’re lucky to be in this thread having fun on a daily basis. No big topics during the weekend as we like to low-key it here on the weekend after all 5 topics that we had all week long. And now we move into our weekend with hopes and dreams of errands, fun times, relaxing times and more. And turkey times? We all think about that year-round which is why we are here together in this thread all year long. Now it’s time to get going with my errands and such. But I’ll be back later. Have a great Final Weekend Of July!

The weather is beautiful here too, it feels like an October morning. Tomorrow and Monday are going to be rainy and then the heat and humidity are going to return. I am going to enjoy the cool weather while it lasts, I hope you all have a great weekend!
