This is hard to pick. It's like asking who is your favorite child. That being said, Christmas is my favorite child.

Christmas is what unites us all and brought / brings all of us back to MMC every day.

Have a great day!

Alright, hear me out:

The poll asks, “What is your favorite of the Big 3 holidays?” And, after a number of years of visiting MMC, I have to go with B, Thanksgiving.

Before you raise the pitchforks…it should go without saying that the Christmas season is my favorite time of year. Nothing can top it. But since the poll is asking about individual days…

Thanksgiving is joyous the entire day. When dinner is done and I go back home, I’m still happy, because i still have another month of Christmas season still ahead of me. I watch Christmas specials that night. And the rest of the world finally catches up, too.

That’s not to say that Christmas isn’t joyous all day long, but for me personally, there is always a sadness (mostly self-inflicted, I know) that hits me around noon when I become aware that my favorite time of the year is ending. That is why Thanksgiving finally takes the crown for me.

I can not speak for all regions but around here it is a 5K or 3 mile run on Thanksgiving morning. The closest one to me is about 40 minutes away and starts at 9:00. In my 20s, when I was most likely to have been able to run and many of my friends participated in it I was already helping host Thanksgiving and I never wanted to be away from the oven that long. Later, of course there were years with 2 Thanksgivings to attend and that is probably when I needed the physical exercise the most! I don't think I would ever join a formal one, but I am sure one of my sisters or nieces would oblige me in a long walk in the early a.m.
OH! Ok, I get it now. Thank you! I've never really been healthy enough to do any kind of marathon. I've always admired people that can, though. I bet I can get my son to walk with me at some point during the day. He LOVES to walk. He walks several miles daily and has since he was small. I've been doing the Thanksgiving meal for about 25 years now, so I understand about being near the stove :)

I could have not said it better myself. B. My top single day Holiday of the year.

That's one thing Thanksgiving has over Christmas the beginning of the holiday season vs. the end!

I bet we get quite a few steps in doing laps around our kitchens!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 28
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 1

Happy Halloween! Today folks, we move along and see that we have 28 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 1 day to go until November. Our next milestone arrives tomorrow as we reach the 2nd goal of 3 which is the Arrival of November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday below on this special Halloween Day!

Halloween was my first love. That’s why it’s special to me. Christmas was always special to me of course as a kid but I grew out of it briefly as some of us do. Thanksgiving? It’s like my last love. The one I found a little later in life but that grew on me out of nowhere. It was the overlooked holiday. But not in this thread. Happy Halloween!

Halloween was a special day for me as a kid. I’d rush home from school to get ready to go trick or treating. For some reason I always remember those days more than the ones where it fell on a weekend. We also used to get November 1 off since I went to catholic school (All Saints Day). Turkey friends today is the beginning of the link to Thanksgiving. Are you ready for November? Have a great Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Buddy! I was trying my best to not have to mention the you-know-whats that happen mid day through Christmas day, I'm so glad you and some other folks on here understand.

I still choose Christmas because I think overall the build and 95% of that day is just superior, but again, we are talking about all time great holidays on here.

Thank goodness there is no "slog" after Thanksgiving. And we don't really have time to "mourn" Halloween because Christmas decorating and everything starts the very next day. But then I mourn all three of them that last week of December lol.

So glad to still be in the thick of the season!
