Thanksgiving 2024 Thread

I don’t eat stuffing any other time of the year, unless it’s Tom Turkey Day and I’m at Cracker Barrel. Stuffing is exclusively a Thanksgiving food for me. Turkey, naturally, is the king of Thanksgiving foods.

We eat (boxed) stuffing throughout the year but for Thanksgiving it Has to be Homemade stuffing. Turkey deserves Homemade stuffing.

That is pretty much where I am. I make homemade stuffing for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but we eat the boxed stuff during the year.

Happy Spring TGIF! Today folks we move along and see that we have 251 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 224 days to go until November, and 163 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be tomorrow friends on Saturday when we reach the 250-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. We move along in the very early stages of our Super Spring with a Fun Fact Friday below!

There are three towns in the United States named “Turkey.” They can be found in Texas, Louisiana, and North Carolina.

Now that’s one that I wouldn’t have gotten. I didn’t know that. That truly is a new fact for me. What about you my turkey friends? Can you imagine living in a town called turkey? How can you not love Thanksgiving if you live in those towns? Turkey friends let’s gear up for our weekend soon but first of all let’s just enjoy our Friday first. Today I learned something new. I think I've mentioned it before in the main Christmas thread, but my brother's in laws are from Santa Claus, Indiana! No joke!

My cousin sends his Christmas Cards to Santa Claus, Indiana so they will be postmarked from there! They have a beautiful large stamp. It makes up for the fact that he only signs his name! LOL!

I've been there. Went to Holiday World. I've also been to Santa Claus, Georgia. I wonder how many Santa Claus towns there are in the U.S.?

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 223
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 162

Happy Spring Weekend! Today folks we move along and see that we have 250 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 223 days to go until November, and 162 days left until The Bers. It’s Milestone Day here folks as we reached the 250-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. That means friends going forward no countdown will be closer to the 3’s than the 2’s. Amazing. Our next milestone will be amazing too and will be Tom Turkey Day #4 which will be on Thursday. We move along in our Super Spring (early season style) with a rainy day expected here. Oh well. It’s still the weekend and I have things to do. But here in this thread we’re keeping it quiet and low-key. That’s how we like our weekends here after a very busy week of 5-day topics which I personally think has been perfected for this thread. It may have taken several years of doing this but I think we’ve got the perfect mixture now in this thread. And that fact on Friday surprised a lot of people including yours truly. Turkey friends I hope you have a good Saturday whether it rain or shine. We worked through the week to get to this point so we have to enjoy the weekends too. And keep thinking turkey thoughts and positive thoughts/feelings about autumn. Have a great Spring Weekend!​

Happy 1st weekend of Spring! Rainy today until about after lunch, then I'm going to change the oil in the mowers so that I'm ready to go tomorrow. The back yard is starting to become a jungle!

Happy Weekend! I am deep in Thanksgiving Weekend feels and daydreams, I guess I shouldn't be surprised since the daydreams about Thanksgiving Monday started last week, but today I can almost feel the feels of that weekend. It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving Weekend will include the start of December but that might not be a bad thing.

yes it does, the smell of the celery and onions sauteing will bring the kids out of their bedrooms and declare that it smells like Thanksgiving

I miss the old days when Thanksgiving was packed with family. Not many family members left.
