Thanksgiving 2024 Thread

Thanksgiving truly does feel far away now. Even though we are walking back towards that special day, it does feel like it was an eternity ago.

As February draws to a close next week, excitement rolls in as we get another month closer to our journey "back".

To have already be at 3 Tom Turkey days! This is where winter time surprises us I think with how "far" we have gone, even though we feel like everything we miss was so long ago. I'll settle in for an old NFL game tonight in honor of good old Tom Turkey!

Happy Terrific TGIF! Today folks we have 279 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 252 days to go until November, and 191 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be the day after tomorrow as we reach the 250-Day Marker till November. But now folks we move along in our Winter Wonderland with some snow still on the ground and do our new feature in this thread which is our Fun Fact Friday right below this line!

A frozen whole turkey should be thawed in the fridge for 24 hours for each 5 lbs. of weight before being cooked.

Well that math seems to work because we get a 20+ pound turkey every year and thaw it in the fridge on the weekend. So yeah 4-5 days ahead seems about right. And every year it’s a close call still as the turkey is borderline just enough thawed. I like that fact though. And oh yeah I love turkey. If that makes me bad, then so be it. I’ll keep living my turkey life the way I like it and so do you. Happy Friday everyone. Gobble your way through your Friday and enjoy your day. Ok? Enjoy it. Have a great Terrific TGIF!​

Happy Final February Weekend! Today folks we have 278 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 251 days left until November, and 190 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone is tomorrow folks and it will be the 250-Day Marker till November. I look forward to it very much my friends as I know all of you do as well. We move along in our Winter Wonderland feeling fine on this weekend. Our quiet weekend period begins here in this thread. Nice to see after a long 5-days of topics which will resume on Monday, of course. But for now let’s focus on Saturday. It’s a big weekend when thinking about Thanksgiving by the way. It’s the 25% marker this weekend. It’s hard to believe where we are yet the first quarter is quite interesting as it takes in my favorite time of year (holiday season) and my least favorite time of year (winter). Turkey friends you have a good time today ok? Enjoy your time with your family/friends and relax as much as you can. It’s been a long week for sure for you I bet. And it has been for me. So I hope you get to enjoy your time with everyone today relaxing and having fun with everyone around you. And get all those errands done too that you need to do. Happy 25% of the way back this weekend! That's amazing! Always something to get on to MMC and make you smile about. I'm smiling today about nice warm weather, and hoping that we can "ride" this warm weather all the way into Spring! Have a great Saturday!

Happy February Sunday! Today folks we have 277 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 250 days to go until November, and 189 days left until The Bers. It’s Milestone Day folks as we have reached the 250-Day Marker till November. Big Time Milestone folks. Our next milestone in this Winter Wonderland is going to be on Friday which is the Arrival of March. Folks our quiet weekend part 2 is here but let me tell you something about where we are right now and where we are going into this week. Ok? This might be like one of the top most significant turning points this year. How already? Let me explain. For us Thanksgiving fans we are completing our 13th full week since Thanksgiving week. That is of 52 full weeks this year (due to the extra long year/count). That’s exactly a quarter today. Then you throw in March 1 the day of hope coming. That is basically Halfway back to The Bers also. And now you mix in the 300-Day Marker till Christmas this week coming up. You know me. I’m not rushing anything but I think part of not rushing is realizing where you are. It’s a significant part of the year coming right now when I know a lot of people are not thinking that way they’re simply thinking get me to Spring, Easter and Baseball. But I’m here to tell you where we are right now and this week coming is pretty darn special. Have a great February Sunday!​
 
I agree it is a pretty special week and I especially like that we have Leap Day, a fun quirk in the year, and we will get one extra day out of our way between us and the Bers. We already have that extra week between us and Thanksgiving to tackle!

Happy Final Week Of February! Today folks we have 276 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 249 days to go until November, and 188 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Friday friends when we welcome in the Arrival Of March. Wow. That will be huge with the day of hope and halfway till The Bers. We are still though in our Winter Wonderland friends and on this Monday we begin the week how we begin every week and that would be with our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week which stands at 39 weeks. No more 40s friends in this thread ever again. But even bigger than that is we have completed 13 full weeks since Thanksgiving Week ended and now have 39 weeks ahead of us. That is exactly a quarter of the weeks we have completed. Turkey friends it’s interesting how the first quarter included the entire holiday season and the bulk of winter. Kind of a mixed bag of the best and the least best? I don’t know. I guess it depends on how you look at it but that’s kind of how I do. And now we begin the 2nd quarter. We have to enjoy every step of the way here folks and stay in winter for a while longer still. But I know many of us have spring fever already. And the weather might add to that. Halfway back to The Bers is coming up in just 4 days! That's almost like a holiday. I remember a few years ago we always have a friendly debate on if March 1st is "truly" the point of being halfway back to The Bers. I remember we agreed that we could say that March 1st was the halfway point "observed". Either way, I have always felt like March 1st was indeed halfway back to The Bers. What a happy day it will be! But first we have to get through this week. Have a great day!
 
A quarter of the way back to Thanksgiving and halfway back to The Bers this week. I love the sound of that!
