Happy Spring Session! Today folks we move along and have 231 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 204 days to go until November, and 143 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be when we reach the 200-Day Marker till November. It will be in 4 days so that will be on Monday. We move along in our Super Spring with our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday below this line here and now!

The first word I think of when I think about Thanksgiving is Tradition. I’ve mentioned it before but Thanksgiving to me is the ultimate traditional day of the year. Turkey, parade, football, family, friends, food and fall. What could be better than a totally traditional day?

Tradition sums it up to me but maybe you have a different word to sum up Thanksgiving. It’s not an easy thing to do in one word. And a lot of us have a hard time figuring out what holiday could be summed up with what word. But I think that just goes with Thanksgiving better than any other day of the year. Turkey friends I hope you are all doing well here as we move along into another April day. Thanks for coming and being here. Thanks for being great and awesome like all of you are. I missed the poll yesterday, but it’s A for me. Seeing the NFL schedule get released, especially those Thanksgiving Day games, makes it “real” for me that our journey is progressing. The schedule release almost coincides with the Halfway to Thanksgiving marker anyway. Double happiness!

Some of Thanksgiving traditions have changed or evolved over the course of the past 25 years due to life events (divorces, deaths, moves). I now use the same turkey platter, cranberry sauce dish and the same Tupperware container to store the leftover turkey in that my parents used when I was a kid. My homemade stuffing is my mom's recipe. Some of our current traditions are the ones I incorporated many years ago and they still hold strong every year like the homemade pepperoni bread, the pie recipes and of course watching the Thanksgiving day parade on TV

Around 50 million pumpkin pies are consumed every Thanksgiving. 36 percent of people eat pumpkin pie for dessert on Thanksgiving, even though opinion polls show that America’s favorite pie is apple.

I am totally with apple pie. It’s by far my favorite. I’m not a pumpkin person. I don’t eat it so I am not part of the 36 percent. But it’s great to know that little fact. What kind of pies do you like? Like I said, for me it’s apple. It’s very simple. Turkey friends I hope you enjoyed our fact today. And I hope you had a great week so far. Give me all the pumpkin. I love a good pumpkin pie or pumpkin cheesecake. Delicious!

This is blueberry season, though, so right now I’ve got blueberry pie and blueberry crumble on the brain.

Pumpkin and apple crumb pies are an absolute must for Thanksgiving. Usually, SIL makes and brings a sweet potato pie but if she doesn't then I will make that one too.

My problem is, I don't think I have ever met a pie I didn't like.

We used to have all three when the whole family was home for Thanksgiving.
