Probably especially since we've had a cold late autumn/early winter...many will think this is their one chance before it turns back to cold/snowy!

I think the lights here are totally done next weekend, because it's supposed to be in the 60's for a couple of days beginning next Friday.
The tree always makes it until Rudolph Day #1, as I symbolically feel like it lights the way through the longest and darkest part of January.

Happy Saturday all! Been busy since I opened my eyes this morning. Few more days and its off to Tulsa for us. Figure we will all get the Chili Bowl Flu.
We took our outside lights down yesterday. It was cold but we got it done. It always amazes me how it takes all day to decorate the outside and only a couple of hours to take everything down and packed up. Still several houses around here that are decorated and I imagine that if they do not take them down by tomorrow then they will be up for another week.

Happy Early January! Today folks we move along and see that we have 326 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 301 days left until November and 240 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone arriving on Monday to begin a new week with the 300-Day Marker till November. Impressive huh? Then only 1 of our counts will be in the 3’s after that. Pretty amazing if you ask me. It’s Sunday folks and time for the 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period. We are truly in a good spot here and really the final reset I’m calling it as the Christmas Week and New Year’s Week duo end today. They are certainly very different from the previous 50 weeks, that is for sure. These 2 weeks feel so unique. Turkey friends I hope you are doing well on this Sunday and that you enjoy your time with family and friends today. Or maybe just a chill day at home. Can you believe the holidays are over? I think it hits home today for sure. A lot of people took off Friday as one final break until everyone goes back. Kids go back to school too. It’s all starting now. The best to you my turkey friends. I hope you are doing well and enjoying your Sunday with the last football Sunday of the regular season. Have a great Early January!

Happy Early January! Today folks we move along and see that we have 326 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 301 days left until November and 240 days to go until The Bers. Last year was just so different. I am really lucky, or as I believe it, blessed, to have went 40 YEARS with never having anything happen "bad" on Christmas. I think because of those circumstances, it kind of hit me about mid-day, that Christmas was "over". Because of the circumstances, there was no denying it. Between that and the very strong feelings, almost a "calling", that I have to put Christmas on my shoulders now for my wife and my two children, it made it easy to digest, and at least so far, I have had no PCB's.
January has been busy so far, 1st with me getting ready to buy a new vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler, and next Thursday finding out if Holly has to have surgery or not, those kind of thoughts / actions are going to power me through January. We will see how I feel after taking the lights down, but i really am feeling good right now, all things considered.

Kind of a funny video here from one of my favorite shows from back in the day America’s Funniest Home Videos. That was one of those addicting shows that I loved and gave me good memories. Turkey epic fails? It depends how you look at it but a funny little video there centered around Thanksgiving. The best to you my turkey friends as we move along back into normalcy. Get those 300's out of here! Those are honestly the hardest days in any count to pass! I did a big write up on it years ago when I first joined MMC, my feelings on all the counts and how different the time passes with them even though we do them 365 days a year, 24/7, etc..
200's you still feel like something is far away but it isn't BRUTALLY far like anything in the 300's.
You get into the 100's and you can feel time really moving.
You make it to 100 days and then under? Time at that point feels like it's been greased.

I love America’s Funniest Home Videos. In fact, my kids and I watched it together last night, and they are still producing new episodes and seasons. The holiday-themed episodes are particularly great for a dose of the Feels; I may actually start watching some of those on our special days starting with this next Tom Turkey Day.

Mixing a bit of the Offseason with Thanksgiving…this was the float for the 2026 Winter Olympics in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this past year! The Winter Olympics kick off next month and have been a much-needed boost for me when trying to get out of the winter doldrums.
