:family:What are your plans for THanksgiving? MY husband and I are going to my sisters. She lives in the same town as us, so at least we won't have to travel. There won't be a large crowd, which is better. My family has gotten too big for the entire family to gather together. I'm making a vegetable dip to have as an appetizer, and I'm bringing champagne for the toast we say before we eat dinner. Whatever everyone's plans are, I hope it's a joyful holiday!

I will be preparing dinner at my place. My husband and daughter will be there, as well as my older and youngest brothers and my older brothers two room-mates will also be joining us since their families are in different states. I'm so looking forward to all of this. I love to cook and love to have company.

On Thanksgiving Day, we are going to my in-law's house. The day after Thanksgiving is reserved for shopping all day. That Saturday is the Alabama-Auburn game (That is a sacred holiday here in Alabama, just in case you didn't know.), and Sunday we are having Thanksgiving at my mother's house. We have Thanksgiving at my mother's over the weekend so no one will have to choose which family to visit since my sister's in-laws live away. Everyone can go visit whomever on Thanksgiving Day, and not have to worry about making back for another Thanksgiving meal on that same day, or have to miss it all together. It sounds strange to some people, but it works out great for us.

We are hosting Thanksgiving for the first time. My MIL usually did it but she recently moved to Florida. So far there will be 9 of us. I am still waiting for answers from 3 more.
Friday - the first half will be spent shopping and then the rest of the day/weekend will be spent decorating.

We're going to celebrate Thanksgiving with my IL's this year. It'll be the first holiday since my father-in-law died on Oct. 12 of this year so Dh and I felt it was important for us to be there as a family.

We usually go to my grandmothers for thanksgiving but this year I think we might be having our own little dinner at home.

We'll be hosting dinner at our home. Our little gathering will only be about 6 maybe 7 of us; depending if my oldest niece has to work (she's a mental health provider at a Mental hospital). She was told up front that all employee's have to work 2 out of the 3 big holidays and she picked Thanksgiving (day shift) and Christmas (day shift) but she didn't get her request of day shift for Thanksgiving and she's totally bummed since she'll have to be to work at 3pm and we won't be eating dinner until 5:30pm. She's hoping someone will switch with her but so far she's not having any luck with that; that's why Thanksgiving will probably be only 6 of us-myself, hubby, our two girls London(9), Madison(2), my mum and aunt. The smaller the better if you ask me.

Christmas Eve is when we all gather for dinner and open presents and they'll be a few more folks there than what will be at our home for Thanksgiving, so her working on Christmas Day isn't as big of a deal. Only thing she'll miss is the big breakfast we do and the opening of the stockings.

We are hosting Thanksgiving at our house this year. We had Thanksgiving at our one bedroom apartment one year, but my parents were the only ones who came for it. Granted, my mother-in-law stopped in for dessert. So I don't think that that year counts. This year my sister-in-law, neice, nephew and my husbands grandmother are coming. So there will be 6 of us. We're having a 21 pound turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, dressing, sweet potatoes and then all different kinds of desserts. We're going to start with a cheese and veggie tray.

I WILL BE COOKING HERE FOR MY FAMILY & MY HUSBANDS MOM. WE WILL HAVE A TOTAL OF 13 PEOPLE HERE FOR DINNER. HERE WE EAT EARLY SO MY SISTER & HER FAMILY CAN COME, SINCE THEY OWN A DAIRY FARM & HER HUSBAND HAS TO MILK THE COWS AT 4:00, WE EAT EARLY SO THEY CAN BE WITH US TOO. MY GIRLS ALSO HAVE TO GO TO THERE BOYFRIENDS FAMILIES HOUSE TOO. :family:

I am cooking but just for my family. When my dh and I were first together we used to always go to one of our parents house but last year we realized it is so much better to stay home. We get to relax, have leftovers, and get all the food exactly like we like it(I am better cook than everyone in his family and just as good as my mom and step-dad).So our tradition is to stay home alone and then either go somewhere for desert. This year our best friends are coming over at like 4 for desert. Plus I am the only one to have all my Christmas decorations up by Thanksgiving so I like to stay home and enjoy all my decor too.

DH, DS15 and I will have our turkey at home. A friend of DHs will be coming over.
DS wants me to take him out after work tonight so I can get him a new XBox game so he has something to do.
May go shopping Fri, may stay home and clean house.
The holidays are quiet for us and we actually prefer it that way instead of the psycho family "stuff".
