Fall is my favorite time of year!!

I love:

The way the air smells...that crisp, cool breeze scented with the warm musk of fallen leaves.

The cool air that is cool enough to make you chilly but not so cold that you need a coat.

The colors...the vibrant golds, reds and yellows that just seem to explode all around us.

The way home looks in the early dusk of a cool autumn evening...with the light blazing in the windows to welcome you home after a long day.

Pumpkins...in pies, in bread, in cakes or in rolls.

Buying and burning lovely fall scented candles (apple cinnamon, pumpkin spice...YUM)

I love when the leaves change and windy days when the leaves just pour from the trees and blow around. I like to decorate too. I always look forward to Fall.

What isn't there to love about the fall????

Getting darker earlier, the nice cool crisp air, hot apple cider, the colors of the leaves. The pumpkins and mums, the sights and smells!Love the fall scented candles, there are certain recipes that I only make in the fall and winter and I am already itching to make.

This is my very first post, but I can't think of a better place to begin.... I LOVE FALL!! It's the beginning of the season of wonder and childhood memories and the longing for simpler times and pleasures. The changing leaves, cooling temps, wildlife moving in increasing abundance... everything is getting ready for winter. I love the smell of wood smoke in the air, the musty fragrance of decaying acorns and leaves in the forest.... taking my brood of 5 into the woods to enjoy all these wonders.... my wife's wonderful carrot cake and the decorations at home.... the fun of each holiday as it comes.... football.... shorter days, longer nights.... frost on the grass and everything crisp in the air.... What's not to like about it?

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love the chilly mornings, decorating of course, making pumpkin muffins, going to pick out a pumpkin to carve, preparing for Thanksgiving and knowing Christmas is right around the corner.

but most of all:

i love the fact that autumn is the gateway to christmas, it's the official start of the season.

Things Tanja likes about fall!

It gets darker earlier
The color of the leaves changing and the leaves falling down....I love to walk thru the fallen leaves.
When fall comes....Christmas Time is not so far away anymore.
Wearing pullovers again....not that I hate shorts and t-shirts....but around end of August, I start to feel like wearing pullovers...but it´s too warm usually....so I can´t....but by the end of September....that time has come as well!
