When this blessed season comes, it also brings in the unfortunate debate and arguments as to whether it should be celebrated and how. The best answer is to look into the past. It is about the birth of Jesus firstly and the main reason for the season. But let's look at all the wonderful things that have (and do) happen during this time frame. Is there another season that has had so many songs dedicated to it? Is there another time of year when hearts are so touched by the need of people they do not even know, that we tend to open our pockets a little bit easier to give? Wars have been put on hold for Christmas. Think of just that. We kill each other over various reasons in war, but something about doing it on Christmas is just too repulsive to consider.
People seem to be a little less cold (even in the northern states) and are more likely to pass on a Merry Christmas than even a casual hello during the rest of the year. I have just hit the tip of the iceberg here and yet there are people out there that are telling us to celebrate this season is wrong? I feel so sorry for those who's hearts are become so stony that they can no longer find the childlike (not childish) faith and love that makes this season the one I look forward to every year and the reason that a Christmas tree stays up in my house all year long. I don't even mind the occasional dusting it requires.
I know it is July, but just in case I miss any of you down the road... Merry Christmas
