At the risk of sounding cynical, the original Grinch cartoon is something of a rarity - it was perfect the first time around. It can't be improved upon. I think that any attempt to remake it will suffer by comparison to the original.

This is like trying to remake A Charlie Brown Christmas. There's no need for it.
 
I don't really think we need a third adaptation of this book. I was just fine with the two movies we already have. They were perfect for the different moods I was in. If I wanted to watch a classic short film, I would watch the animated one, and if I wanted to watch a really hilarious comedy, I would watch the live action one. But, nonetheless, I'm looking forward to this new version anyway. Chances are that I'll actually really enjoy it.
 
Its all about "Reboots" now in tv and movies.
