And, what time do you usually stop trick or treating? Do you get many trick or treaters? What types of candies or treats are you handing out? Have you ever received or handed out anything other than candy?
this is our first halloween in Texas and apparently they don't celebrate Halloween here. We've been told not to expect any trick or treaters. My in laws don't get any trick or treaters in their neighborhoods either. It's really strange. In NY it's a big deal, everyone decorates and everyone tricks or treats...
We're nervous about where our kids are going to get candy...if no one trciks or treats, we don't know where to go...
We're hoping christmas is better here.

Same here Prancer. And despite it being tradition to have Halloween on October 31, I personally wish they would just celebrate it on the last Saturday of October every year. It just seems better when it's on a weekend (especially for the kids).Around our neck of the woods we start getting Trick r Treaters around about 5pm till around 8-30pm...We get an average of 50-70 kids depending on the weather off-course and also what day Halloween lands on...![]()

I love traditions and understand October 31 has always been Halloween but I don't get why we can't just change it to the last Saturday in October. Would it really matter if Halloween fell on October 28? I mean kids (and adults) would be able to enjoy the day more on a Saturday! We start getting trick or treaters when it goes dark so from around 5pm or thereabouts. This year it is on a school night so we may go a bit earlier like around 6pm. We don't stay out long as I only take them around the neighbourhood.
Actually, it's the first time going trick or treating on a school night with the kids. They are usually off that week in October for mid term break but this year they will be having the week before off.
I demand for it to be a public Holiday with no work or school on the 31st LOL !I love traditions and understand October 31 has always been Halloween but I don't get why we can't just change it to the last Saturday in October. TOT time was 6–8 p.m. on Hallowe'en, a period that was mostly after sunset. For which I'm grateful — some cities have put it in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, which takes all the spooky out of it.
