Some of you may do this already but I started doing this a few years and the kids and parents really appreciate it.

I keep lots of extra grocery sacks. On Halloween night if a kid shows up with a full bag of candy or a torn bag that is falling apart, I give them an extra grocery sack so they can continue on trick-or-treating without having to go home to drop off their candy or get another bag. I think I hand out at least 15 bags each year.

I also get a case of bottled water. I sometimes get kids who come to the door asking if they can have a drink of water. Problem solved, I give them a bottle of water. That only happens a few times each year but it's great to have on hand just in case.

now that makes sense

I keep wipes and band-aids near the door..... water is a great idea :) and bags... super ideas! I had hand sanitizer last year for sure... a little girl got sick and threw up on my street..poor thing felt awful..... I offered her some water.... her dad was so grateful....

Thanks! I will be sure to put a first aid kit nearby and some wipes. cheesy

This is one of the things I miss about living in town. We would have between 60-125 kids come by on Halloween. We've had one in the 9 years we've lived in the "boonies".
