I vote for Bela Lugosi. Lon Chaney is a close second though.

It's still tough, but I guess I will go with Christopher Lee. It will probably change tomorrow, I like several on the list.

Horror of Dracula – 1958
Crypt of the Vampire – 1964
Castle of the Living Dead – 1964
Dracula: Prince of Darkness – 1966
Dracula Has Risen From the Grave – 1968
Taste the Blood of Dracula – 1970
Scars of Dracula – 1970
Count Dracula - 1970
Dracula AD - 1972
Count Dracula and his Vampire Bride – 1973
In Search of Dracula

He has played the Count the most of anyone (as far as I know), but that doesn't justify him being the best. Quantity over quality, I don't think so. But, that's the thing, he was a quality Dracula and I love those Hammer flicks.

So for now..Christopher Lee!

Bela Lugosi and his piercing eyes ... nothing quite like the original.

Well said! My sentiments exactly. I love the old movies and we recently found a dvd of silent horror with Nosferatu on it. My kids are learning to love that old genre as well. They all thought Lugosi's count was the best they have seen too.

I had to only vote once??? well I said Bela Lugosi, but I also liked Gary Oldman...I like most of his work....and Christopher Lee.

I picked Bram Stocker's b/c that is one scary Dracula...but I perfer my vampires to be romantic and painfully good-looking, ala Twilight and True Blood

Bela Lugosi....he was soooooo creepy! I couldn't truly appreciate Gary Oldman....I was distracted by Keanu Reeves' bad English accent. Now THAT'S scary! LOL
