Since Halloween is almost upon us, what is your favorite Horror movie?

I am not a big fan of these new gory/bloody movies like Saw or Hostel, so I've got to go with two classics:

Night of the Living Dead

and the original 1978 Halloween. Both scared the crap outta me as a kid.

I also love the old black and white Universal monster movies.

:frankenstein:

The Saw collection

I have quite a few, but for me it has to be the classic 1978 Halloween, It rocks. I love gory zombie movies too, my favorite at the moment is Grindhouse Planet Terror.

. I love gory zombie movies too,.

I used to love gory zombie movies, but as I have gotten older my tastes have changed.

I did enjoy Spanish and Italian horror back in the day, as well. Argento is a master.

Great zombie flicks: Zombie, ReAnimator, The Beyond, anything by Lucio Fulci, classic Romero films, even liked the remake of Dawn of the Dead, Dead Alive, Cemetary Man, Evil Dead flicks, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie.

That's just a few.

I like much tamer fare now, I guess I am getting old!! cheesy

I never have liked scary movies .

When I was little I used to watch this show while hiding behind the couch or peeking through my finger's. This guy's name was "Sammy Terry" and his show was kind of like "The Crypt Keeper"

I have great love for those local shows. Never heard of Sammy Terry, but I am sure he was terrifying.

You know your stuff!! Every single title you mentioned I love. The old stuff is the best!

Yep A Christmas fan can like horror!! :)

Peter Jackson's Bad Taste/Dead Alive are cool!

Silence of the Lambs
The Exorcist
The Omen
Dracula - the one with Keanu Reeves (although I do love the new HBO Series Tru Blood)

This is not a so called horror flick, but the movie White Noise freaked me out. It is a movie that get's you thinking I guess.

Sammy Terry! He is a real legend here in Indiana! ("Sammy Terry" = "Cemetery")
He was a scary movie host, like Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.

My List: :bat:

The Little Girl That Lived Down The Lane (Jodie Foster/Martin Sheen)
CARRIE (from Stephen King novel)
Christine (from Stephen King novel)
Nightmare on Elm Street
Friday the 13th
Poltergeist
The Omen
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (Stupid and classic! Haha!)
Scream
Scary Movie/s 1-4 (Not really scary, but too funny!)

haha...the Killer tomatoes were fresh

I also liked Scream and I know what You did last summer...both parts of the last one mentioned.....the 1st because of Ryan PHilipe and second one because of Mekhi Phipher

Mine is a Stephen King movie. I saw it for the first time when I was like 12 or 13 and it was Rose Red. It's not horror or scarey in anyway. It's just considered that by some. It's really got a lot of suspense to it. LOL! I think it's funny.

All of the Halloween's except Halloween 3, nothing to do with Micheal Myers. Nightmare on Elm St. was so scary when I seen it in the 80's, my son says it not scary yeah because all the new movies are so gory. And Night of the Living dead the color remake scared the heck out of me.

I like the old fashioned ghost type ones; ones that mess with your mind, not drown you in blood and gore.

The one I've enjoyed the most recently was "The Others". Spooky with a great twist.

I'm also seriously into vampires!!! The original Salem's Lot (the David Soul version) scared the h*ll out of me when that kid floated outside the window!!

As a kid Friday the 13th movies and Halloween movies did it in for me...along the Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

The last movie that I watched that made me jump a bit is Jeepers Creepers. I don't watch too many horror movies....I like vampire movies though.

The original Salem's Lot (the David Soul version) scared the h*ll out of me when that kid floated outside the window!!

That scene STILL creeps me out every time I see it!

I am a huge horror movie fan so it's tough to pick one. Here are a few of my faves:

Nightmare On Elm Steet (first one)
Halloween (original)
Scream
Evil Dead
The Exorcist
House Of Wax (original)
Pet Sematary
Alice, Sweet Alice
Prom Night (original)
