The Tender Loving Kakes are coconut Kandy Kakes with dark chocolate, which show up at different times of the year with different names based on the season. Highly recommended! I wish we could get them, but they don't sell them this far north. Sometimes we get a "care package" of Tastykakes from a friend in Baltimore. I hope he remembers us for Valentine's Day!

Now that you mention it, I don't recall ever seeing Tastykakes in my local grocery store. Next time I go I will have to remember to look. I do see them in other stores such as Walmart though, so all is not lost.

Tastykake is based in Philadelphia, IIRC, so they don’t cover the country. I grew up in Maryland, and they were in convenience stores, supermarkets, and local mom ‘n’ pop-type stores—-everywhere, really. My faves were Krimpets and Kandy Kakes. Whenever we visit back in MD we stock up!
