Best of New Christmas Music: Santa Train by The Petersens

Santa Train is a Patty Loveless Christmas song written for her 2002 Bluegrass, White Snow: A Mountain Christmas album. In this video it is covered wonderfully by The Petersen’s who, despite their youthful, look are actually a veteran group of bluegrass performers out of Branson:

Loveless, a native of Pikeville, Ky., where the 110-mile trek of the Santa Train begins in Appalachia, received gifts from the Santa Train as a child. Her past experiences with the annual event led to her participation as the Santa Train celebrity guest in 1999 and again in 2002.

The Petersens were formed in 2005 and have performed in Branson for years. They are all over YouTube and every possible streaming platform.

These Petersens are one talented family. They have several new Christmas numbers out this year and every single one of them is entertaining, polished and professional. They ooze talent.

They also work hard, as is evident in the tracks they have left everywhere. Their story is inspiring and their music is outstanding.
