Mariah Carey Making Christmas Movie for Hallmark

As we reported earlier this year Mariah Carey is hoping to revitalize her career with another shot at Christmas. Hallmark confirms today that she will do it with song both in front and behind the camera. Carey will direct Mariah Carey’s Christmas Project, a scripted movie that will debut this Christmas during Hallmark’s famous Countdown to Christmas.

The announcement comes at a busy time for the singer. Next week, she’ll receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She recently launched a residency in Las Vegas where she performs her No. 1 hits, including “Vision of Love,” ”Hero” and “We Belong Together.”

She’ll also co-star in the film, her first acting gig since 2013’s The Butler.
