Rumors Swirl of a Katy Perry Christmas Album

Katy Perry did more this week to advance the swirling rumors of a soon-to-be-released Christmas album by remarking on Instagram “When your derp squad writes a Christmas song in August ???.” — all underneath a festively decked photo of mysterious figures dressed in red and green.

Katy has dazzled fans by singing holiday songs before, as she belted out a painful rendition of White Christmas live at the Hotel Cafe in the past. The songstress has also sung an acoustic version of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. But we’re yet to see a full album and such a release would no doubt become the most widely anticipated release of Christmas 2015.

Traditionalists wince at the idea of Katy Perry singing holiday standards. But being Katy Perry we no doubt will see plenty of originality in no matter what she releases.
