Christmas Countdown - 2018

********** TRAVEL ALERT **********

Well, Folks. The rental season is over and it's time to travel to the beach cottage to check to see how it fared over the summer.
(We have many long-time repeat renters. They are a good bunch and always take good care of the place.)

What better time to go than over the 3-day Labor Day weekend?
As such, a Countdown volunteer will be needed for two mornings: this coming Sunday and Monday. (I can post for Saturday right before we leave.)
Anyone feel energetic this weekend and would like to take over the count?

I just got home from the grocery store and Dollar tree. Dollar tree had cases and cases of Halloween stuff sitting around. What were they putting out though? Christmas craft supplies. So that’s Hobby Lobby, Hallmark, Michael’s, Dollar General, Big Lots, and Dollar tree now. It’s spreading!!!

Someone posted on FB that Rite Aide soon to be Walgreens has Christmas lights out already. I am going to take a ride over there today to see what they have...I will snap some blossom pics! Have a good day!

This humidity is terrible...I heard that a lot of Sept will be on the warmer side, I hope it cools down for October!

Happy Thursday!
I ended up taking my husband to the Dr yesterday and they gave him some meds for the vertigo. He is still not feeling 100% so he is home today too.
Typical work for me today and I am going to a friend's house to do a load of laundry.

Good Thursday morning! The humidity broke overnight and we have a cool breeze going through the appartment. I am currently baking the vanilla cupcakes that I had planned on making last week to raise money at work for the Sunshine foundation. They're currently cooling so I can frost them and decorate them afterwards. It made me realize that I hadn't baked in forever. So this week at work I'm pulling 12-hour days each day, trying to get everything done. 2 more days until my two-week vacation...Have a wonderful day everyone!

Another hot and humid day. The heat has been making me cranky lol, looking forward to some Autumn weather. Hope it gets here soon. Not too much going on here, just a typical day of errands and chores. I’m also going to visit my Daddy later this afternoon

We took some more clothes, books and a laptop to Jacob last night. It's weird having to visit my son, instead of seeing him every evening.

I have plenty of work to do here, then I have plenty of work to do at home this evening. Work, work, work, no play. Don't they know that makes Bradley a dull boy?

Good Morning, Everybody!

Relentlessly, the holidays close in on us.
We are helpless to stop their inexorable approach.
But then we are lucky. We don't want to stop them!
(Slow them down some, perhaps.)

In that regard, we need to constantly monitor the proximity issue.
So.......
Days to the Season: 75
Days to Christmas Day: 117

And the Milestone status?
Well, a quick check of that indicates that we are now down to a scant 17 days to the 100-day Christmas Day marker.
(The holidays' approach is not only relentless, it's also stealthy!)

The heat and humidity? Not going away any time soon, I'm afraid.
But that lawn has to be dealt with before the weekend, so I deal with it after sunset but before it gets dark. The narrow time band keeps me on my toes!
And why by this weekend?
I'll get to that in a separate post!
Today has commenced here at 77 degrees.

I am the first one up today so I am going to enjoy the peace and quiet and read some. Today we will go to the beach about 10 mins away from here. It's been so humid that I am not sure how long we will last on the beach. Tonight will be a trip to the boardwalk to do some rides for Carolina and for me and Mike to play in the arcades. I'll check in before we head to bed tonight.

Good morning MMC!! Merry Friday Eve! It's much cooler today - no sun & the humidity seems to have disappeared. So nice to have the AC shut off once in awhile at work!! We have a high of 77º predicted! A few of our neighbors came over last night to sit out on the patio - A couple of us had sweatshirts on. Was hard to believe after the HOT days!!!

Just work for me today. Then tonight we are going to surprise my oldest sister with a wine & cheese/snacks party on her patio - today is her last day of work! She has been semi-retired for a few years now, but she is now fully retiring...then going to Spain for 3 weeks! I'm happy for her!

I know, it is disturbing!!

They kill my plants every year.
My Mom doesn't get any in La Crosse!

Hope you guys get a beautiful Fall this year!!

They are particular as to which plants they like. Especially rose bushes, Linden tree's, & hops!! We have 4 neighbors (including us) with Linden trees, & our next door neighbor grows hops! I have several rose bushes, but I haven't noticed any on them...they like the Linden!! Grrrrrr! It is disturbing! Your mom is lucky!

They rescued the cat about a year ago. The kitty has been living at my daughters fiancés house. Now they are all very happy in the apartment!
I have not cut down on my meals. My husband just asked me why the grocery bill stayed the same if there are two less people here. My oldest stops by often and I always feed her lol. I’m sure it will be the same with my youngest. I doubt the bill will go down anytime soon but I’m not going to complain!!!

I can't blame your girls a bit!! I would be stopping in too w/ all that yummy food you make! Do they like to cook as much as you do?

My father is doing pretty well. Still adjusting to a couple of new medicine dosages but he seems to be gaining some of his strength back, which is great. Thank you so much for asking, we really appreciate the prayers <3

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I am hoping to be able to get on a little more. This year and the last part of 2017 have been quite challenging so hoping the last part of 2018 goes better. We have 3 days of vacation left at Mikes grandparents

We were at our local Rite Aid last week, and they were chock-full of Halloween stuff, but no Christmas. Will keep an eye out!
