Today should be a perfect fall day. The high is only supposed to be 63 with rain all day again. Right now it's 61. Just another day of work for me. After work I will go to Mikes parents. I'm sure they will be watching a scary movie so I will have my Christmas book to read. Have a great day
I'm not a scary movie watcher either. Bring on Christmas!!!

Well I didn't have a chance to get caught up, but I'm going to head home - errrrr, the grocery for mom. Such a dreary day, I could just cozy up on the couch!!
Hope you are all having a great day!!

Happy New Week!

A BUSY weekend, getting errands done and working on personal projects with pre-Christmas deadlines ... I didn't get enough weekend. And not enough sleep last night. A next-door neighbor has some new security lights that glare right into our bedroom window until midnight. We're going to have to ask her to reset the timer to shut them off earlier, or move them. And, sadly, an aunt phoned me from Maryland to tell me that another of my aunts had passed away last Tuesday, but no one thought to call me until she did.

But the happy part of the weekend was going to Lowes and stocking up on GE Christmas lights. Nice, fresh stock to put on the tree this year!
I'm sorry for your loss, Merry.

Good Monday afternoon, Christmas friends!

It's been another busy day, but I found a few minutes to check in with my favorite place with my favorite peeps!

It was a loooong night Saturday without Nancy and Elizabeth. I woke up every hour. Jim and I went to meet Jacob Sunday at lunch to see The Nun. I thought it was great! Good-n-scary! Then we all went out for lunch. It was fun, but I sure was happy to see my girls later that evening, too!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Me neither. If I watch them things, I'd be up all night.....
Unless it was the "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" or something like that! Then I'd be right there watching it with a big ol bowl of buttered popcorn!

I hope Rocky starts enjoying his walks more, and soon! xx

That is too bad about Rocky, praying that he outgrows it. Poor guy.
If you bring treats with you, I would suggest trying to distract him from what happens to be scaring him at the moment, see if you can get him to focus on you and then praise him & give him a treat.
Does he know “watch me”? Or a similar command? If so, that would be a good start & then eventually just watch me and no treats.
Jazzie is the same way. My parents say that the slightest change upsets her, like a new real estate yard sign, or statue, etc. But she walks great with Harlowe! It’s almost like having her buddy there gives her courage/confidence.
Is there a neighbor friend he could walk with?
Sending hugs to your little sweetie! ♥️
Xo

Thank you both! I wish we had a neighbor dog to walk with, I’m on a small cross street and Rocky is the only pup on the block. I’ll keep trying with the treats. He’s still young, I’m hoping he’ll learn to eventually love it. Molly was like Jazzie, she noticed if a car was out of place! And when people decorated for the holidays she would hesitate, especially walking past those outdoor inflatables! But she always kept going. Funny how observant some of them are!

I'm going to go home and get some comfy clothes on and then just do nothing for the rest of the evening! Dinner been slowly cooking in the crockpot (beef stew) all day, the only thing else I'll need, is to get the tub of butter out of the refrigerator and grab a loaf of bread!!! Ah yes, Good Times!!!!

That sounds so-o-o-o good right now ...

I can understand how some dogs might be nervous with all that is going on outside. It's a lot of stimuli all at once. But Loki loves it. He remembers where every single dog that barked at him lives and he actively looks for them once he gets there, he gets overexcited when he sees a cyclist, and just seeing us get his leash out he sits with a paw up, just anxious to go outside. I really hope Rocky grows into walking, it's such a fun activity for dogs.

Good Monday morning! I'm thankful to have the day off after such a busy weekend at work and a bad night's sleep. David and I were sound asleep when he got a text message from his boss asking him for help in translating something to English (nothing work related). It was only 9:30pm, no big deal, but I couldn't fall back asleep after that and wound up going back to bed at 12:30am only and getting up at 6am as usual. I will just relax and propably have a nap later today. David has an appointment with a surgeon this morning to determine if he will have to have an operation to repair the torn ligaments in his shoulder. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he won't need it. Have a great day everyone!

Merry evening, Martine! Praying for good news for David regarding his shoulder! xx

Good morning, everyone!

Schools are closed today in Ottawa. Three tornadoes touched down within a 25-kilometre (17-mile) radius of my home on Friday. We were without power for 26 hours. About 10,000 others were without power for 50+ hours while about 3000 are still waiting for their power to return. My school board sent an email yesterday telling everyone to be safe and stay home until they can assess the damages today. Apparently, a tornado hasn't touched down in Ottawa since 1894. Crazy stuff! About 25 houses or so were completely ruined and a couple dozen more have extensive damage. All is fine in my neighbourhood.

In other news, the Army Run was yesterday. I ran the 10km race and came 9th out of about 7000 people and set a personal best time of the past 15 years of 37:26. I was amazed that the organizers were able to keep everything going with all the distractions. I believe about 40,000+ people raced in four different races.

Lastly, Kim and I celebrated our first anniversary yesterday! We had a delicious dinner and had some champagne when we returned home. It was a nice, quiet celebration with Simon. We purchased each other gifts of tickets for different events. Kim bought me two tickets to so the LA Kings (my favourite hockey team) play the Ottawa Senators here in Ottawa on Saturday, October 13th. The tickets are right beside the Kings bench! I bought Kim two tickets to see The Nutcracker on Friday, November 30th! We're both excited for the events!

Well, that's about it. How about that Milestone tomorrow? And, you know what could be following that Milestone? I'm so excited! The Most Wonderful TIme of the Year is soooooooo close!!

Prayers going up for those affected by the tornadoes. I'm so glad that all is fine in your area!
Congratulations on setting a personal best during your run!
A very Happy Anniversary to you and Kim!!

Hi all,
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!! Hubby and I got a lot of work done around the house and even made a 4 ft tall fall snoopy yard sign! My father in law came over and helped us cut it out with a jig saw and then I spent all day yesterday painting and sealing it :) . We also got a lot of house work done which felt great, everything is sparkly and clean for the new season! Yesterday was my friends birthday so we put on some head lamps and went late night roller blading then went to the local diner after for a big bowl of chili, it was fantastic. Even though it has still been in the mid 90's all week the humidity is definitely dropping so it is finally starting to feel a bit like fall! Hope you all have a great week!!! Don't forget the halloween baking championship starts tonight on food network!

The Snoopy yard sign looks great!

That does sound sweet :)

Glad that the research went better, and the organizing went well too!

Chipster (love his name!) sounds like quite a curious and helpful guy, bless his heart.

Thank you, snowflake!
I hope this finds your mom better! xx

Good morning MMC!!! It sure is Monday!!!!!!!

Not much to report. Was a nice (but way too fast) weekend! Friday night we watched "Book Club" at the lake. So funny!!! Saturday we watched the Buckeyes & then a Christmas dvd of old Christmas sitcom shows - I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, Frasier, The Brady Bunch, Wings, Taxi, Family Ties, & Andy Griffith. It was kind of a girls weekend! ;) We sure had our fill of pizza. LOL

I ended up staying with mom last night b/c my sister who was supposed to stay with her has the flu. Yuck! Mom sure doesn't need that. She had a rough Sunday but today seems much better.

I'm at job #1 now & will probably head to job #2 this afternoon. My allergies are horrid....all I really want to do is nap!!!

It's a cool & dreary/spitting rain day! Sounds like an excellent movie night to me!! :D

Everyone, have a GREAT day!!!!

It's a cool & dreary day here, too, but so far just sprinkles. I'm using Palmer's fuzzy blanket for a lapghan and it is nice and cozy in here right now. Trying to hold off until October before starting the furnace this year.
I'm glad you had a nice weekend! The previews of "Book Club" were funny ~ loved the part with Candice Bergen. I have to add that movie to my To-Watch list.
Have a merry day!! xx

Had I not been walking home at that time, I wouldn't have seen it. I happened to have a clear and visible path of it north of me as I looked up Rochester toward Gatineau.

The rain certainly was something else!

My goodness, that is too close for comfort! So glad you are safe!!

Tree frogs are very soothing! Love listening to them!!

And thank you! I would gladly take the roll of Christmas decorator!! :D
Hope you had a nice weekend!!!

You're welcome!
Thank you! I did have a nice weekend. The weather was gorgeous and I got a lot of projects done for the store and was even had the time to watch a movie, too. I hope yours was even better!! :)
