May I offer a crockpot beef stew variation?
Mr. doesn't like soup mixes, so I usually just coat stew beef chunks in flour and put them in the crockpot with baby carrots and chopped potatoes. I add a can of undiluted condensed beef broth, maybe a little salt and pepper, and cook it in the crockpot on low all day. It makes a very nice stew.

That sounds yummy!

Great time of year here in Chicago! So much going on, change in seasons, it's all good! Didn't make past mid 40's today but things should moderate a bit. A big change of leaves should be starting soon. Cheer's!

Power out until late Monday due to the storm!
Hopefully someone can take over the count for a few days.
No damage to our place but transmission lines down to our street. Strange, as we had very little wind. And ALL the other streets in our neighborhood have power!

I was wondering how you were doing Crown. I saw tonight on the weather channel that there’s like over 1,000,000 + people that do not have power due to that storm.

Happy Saturday, all! Busy day ahead of me. Have to work a few at the 2nd job, try to squeeze a little rest in, asthma is out of control and I'm on week 3 of bronchitis. Then after my son gets home we are all taking the grandbabies to the pumpkin patch! My first fall/Halloween here in Idaho. THEN to top things, my oldest son back in CA proposed last nite,,,and she said yes!

Happy Saturday MMC! Due to Crown's power outage I will try to fill in for a couple days, if necessary. There is no power outage in our count though.

Days to Halloween: 18 (Getting so close it's spooky!)
Days to the Season: 31 (1 month from today!)
Days to Christmas Day: 73 (I don't even want to think about this yet!)

Just some light rain here this chilly Saturday morning. After months of mostly mild, warm or hot weather things really plunged and changed here quickly. It truly feels like October now (maybe even November). Make it a great Mid-October Saturday!

Good morning MMC ~
Merry Saturday!
It’s going to be cloudy today with showers, temperatures in the mid 50’s. I just had Rocky in the yard and it’s chilly out there!
I have to head out soon, my husband needs a ride to his shop. He drove one of their box trucks home last night and it broke down. He will have to resolve that mess today. I have to straighten up the house and start laundry afterward. I also need to make a big food shopping trip later this morning. And I must organize and start wrapping my daughters bridal shower gifts. Dinner will be a marinated London broil with roasted potatoes and creamed spinach. That’s about it for me. Hope everyone is well. Have a nice day!!!

I hope everyone has a great fall day! We are not going to the fall festivals today since I started with a terrible cold. I think today I will spend most of the day reading inside while Carolina plays with her toys. I also have to get my fall clothes out. I only had one pair of jeans in my drawers and couldn't even find a long sleeve shirt. The high is only going to be 58 today

Okay, this is awesome. Last year a town north of Indy started a German Christkindlmarket. This year, they are adding a gluhwein pyrmaid built by Steinbach nutcrackers in Germany and shipped over. It’s going to be the largest one is the US. I’ll definitely be checking it out.

Back on the air. Duke Energy got the power lines back up sooner than predicted.
It was odd. We did not loose power until AFTER the storm had passed. I guess a weak limb finally could not hang on any longer.
Anyway, a sincere "THANKS!" to Edge for stepping in to be our emergency counter for the last two days!
