Here's one way you could use the afghans that have incomplete color sequences: donate them to an animal shelter charity. The dogs and cats won't worry about whether the sequence is unfinished. Here's an example of one where you can mail in the blankets. Just Google "donate crocheted blankets animal shelter."
Hey, thanks for the link. Maybe I'll have to use my tons & tons of "scrap yarn" for that. My afghans are all over half done - I would love to finish & use for gifts! We'll see!

Happy Wednesday everyone. Good news! I've picked up my ornaments for the ornament exchange. Don't worry, I won't tell what I've picked up. Of course, I had to get a few ones for myself. We took a little drive to a Christmas store about 1 1/2 hours away, just to see what they had. There was some good things, but overall most of it was a bit underwhelming. They were catering mostly to the tourist crowd, so there wasn't a great variety even though there was lots of inventory. I'll eventually have to go to Brommers. It's on my bucket list.

The wind is still blowing here, although the rain has stopped. There's a few dark clouds on the horizon, but nothing to worry about. Have a fun day all and we're almost there. Less than six weeks to go!

Sounds like a fun trip!!

Hope you're having a great day!

Well, Friends. It's nearly here. We are on the threshold.
TOMORROW begins our Special Post series, as we count down the final days to the beginning of Christmas Season 2018.

Let's look at the numbers first, then re-cap the post schedule.
Days to the Season: 6 (Now UNDER ONE WEEK left!!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 15 (TWO WEEKS from TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 48 (Now below the 7 week mark!)

OK. Once again, the Special Post itinerary:
Nov. 08 (Day 5 before the Season) = Made582
Nov. 09 (Day 4 before the Season) = Binger
Nov. 10 (Day 3 before the Season) = SnowflakeMom
Nov. 11 (Day 2 before the Season) = Ballcoach
Nov. 12 (Day 1 before the Season) = Minta

You don't want to miss this series, Folks. Trust me.

Nice and warm yesterday, with no further rain.
Today will begin a cooling trend which is supposed to culminate Saturday night with lows below freezing.
For now, we commence this center day of the week with a thermometer reading of 55 degrees.

Well, Halloween is past with Thanksgiving pending, and this is a busy time of the year for our harried but always friendly activities director, Carl Camel.
With all the spooky decorations down, our inn of choice is taking on a fall/Thanksgiving decor and no doubt the open house on Nov. 21 will be a very memorable one with all the fixings.
Until then, come and join us at the 'Pines this evening for a festive fall experience.

Until that time, have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everybody!
Thanks Crown! Bring on the special posts!

Have fun in Indy!!
I hope you can figure a time that will work for everyone to get together for Christmas! On my side of the family we always stick with Thanksgiving supper (the actual day) & Christmas Eve. Whoever can make it, can make it. But we are dealing with over 50 people.
We are having an issue trying to get Thanksgiving planned with my in-laws. My MIL mentioned the Ohio State - Michigan game day. That's not happening - not starting that. LOL! (And we already have plans)

I understand that completely! Many years ago when I chose the date for our wedding, my brother (our best man) immediately said "No way, that is OSU-Michigan Game Day. If you have it that day, I won't show up!" I didn't realize I picked that day and promptly changed it; I wanted to watch the game too and I know I would have a whole lot less people attending my wedding if it was also game day! They don't mess around with that date here in Ohio (as I know you completely understand!) Go Bucks!

This made me LOL! Yes, I completely understand!!! GO BUCKS!

Looks like it's time to close up the books at job #1 & open the books at job #2! (After bringing my Lula bug to the groomer) :) Everyone, have a great day!! See you tonight at the Pines!!!

Praying you can and thank you! I always put the less valuable ornaments around the bottom, especially this year due to my niece and new puppy, but some of them are ornaments the kids have made, so I hope no one destroys them!
The lighter and antique (1960s) ornaments go mid - tree and further up. While the heavy, larger decorations stay down low where the ancient, 19 year old kitty, and the youngest(3 years old) granddaughter can't, to date, permanently dispatch them.

We had a BIG school levy this year - got shot down big time. 1st time in a long time our school levy didn't pass. I think it made many voters come out!
Hope you get your laundry done today!
Enjoy your day!
It is not unusual for school levies to take two or three shots before they pass. Our school district has gone through this process many times, but, fortunately, not of late.

Good Wednesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

I'm finished with conferences in Atlanta, and now I'm in Birmingham, AL for a golf tournament tomorrow. Of course, it's raining cats-n-dogs, so they may be canceling the tournament. That wouldn't hurt my feelings too much. I'm ready to see home!

One of the Georgia Gubernatorial candidates held her election reception in the hotel we were in last night. Boy, they were a loud bunch. I was on the 10th floor, and they woke me twice with their whooping and hollering in the lobby. The election is still not decided.

I hope y'all have a great afternoon! :D

Good Morning fellow Christmas lovers !

another wet and windy day here in south western Ontario.
Working (paid work that is) today, 4 hour shift so should go fast.
My daughter has a few things yet to get for decorating reception hall and final fitting for her dress is tomorrow morning in London. LittleCS and I have our dresses altered and almost ready to go. Need to find a suit for my son, he tried his on and it no longer fits (should have done that sooner !)

We are looking for a skinny Christmas tree this year, with our limited space I thought this would be a much better idea.

Hope you all enjoy your day, think of you often even if I do not have much time to come here.

Merry Wednesday, CS!
So exciting how close the wedding is! xx
I hope you find the perfect tree and that your son finds a suit, too. :)

Happy Pines Day, MMC!!! The sun is shining and the wind has died off. So it should be a beautiful day!!! Mom has PT at 11:45. So I get to spend the lunch hour at the hospital. The gift shop is having a Christmas open house at least so I can kill some time checking it out. Then I have few other errands to run. I need to put the finishing touches on my special post for tomorrow too. It’s not as eloquent as I was hoping for but I think I get my point across. I hope everyone has a great day!!

Merry Wednesday, made!
I'm sure your post will be awesome! xx

Good morning MMC! It's a sunny, though chilly Pines Day morning! We are up to 39º now, but a low of 29 is predicted for tonight! Brrrr! That's the 1st 20 something I've seen! As of now, we have snow predicted for Friday! Whoop whoop! :D (not holding my breath, but...)
:snowball

So I woke up this morning thinking it was Thursday, then realizing it's Wednesday - not looking too forward to the work day....dragging my feet getting ready for work...and then I drive by our church where I see the church (reserved parking) signs up for a funeral of a 46 year old local man/friend of many/teacher/football coach/track coach/husband/father/upstanding citizen... made me sick. My day is perfect!!!

Working both jobs again today - so typical day for me. (my new normal for now...LOL) I'm kind of excited this afternoon at my new job we have a local lady who has a printing (advertising) business coming in for us to pick out shirts with the company logo on them. It will be nice to not have to think about what to wear every morning!!! :)

Everyone, have a GREAT day!!! Looking forward to the Pines tonight!!!

That is so awesome that you do that! Most of them I have started have a sequence - one is a corner to corner so I can't cut that short - another I'm using a discontinued very soft yarn - I plan (if I ever finish) to use up all the yarn & then call it done. I think I only have a skein or 2 left. Another is a sequence of about 14 colors - using each color on the bottom & each color on the top - so those are hard to cut short. I could probably donate to a battered women's shelter, but even that is 50 miles away. We really have nothing close to donate too - we have to drive for everything. We are so rural here.

Currently I have two afghans going and one is made with yarn that has been discontinued so I'm hunting for a few more skeins. If I don't find any of the yarn, I'll have to frog the whole thing and make it smaller.

Merry Pines Day M!!!! Stay warm!!!

Merry Pines Day to you, Holiday! Stay warm, too!!! xx
