Christmas Countdown - 2018

I actually don’t have a written recipe for my sauce, I just cook it the way my mother does. I sauté onion and garlic in olive oil, I add two cans of crushed tomatoes, two cans of purée, one can of tomato paste. I add about one can of water. Salt & pepper to taste. A little sugar. Oregano and basil. A few bay leaves. I let it simmer for hours with meatballs and sausage. Thats about it. It’s easy peasey!

That sounds awesome!!! Thanks for sharing...I printed it off. I love Tomato puree in soups (chili) I bet it makes an awesome sauce! The simmering for hours is what makes it extra yummy!!! ♥

Merry evening! I slept well today. So great, hopefully I sleep tonight! I’m off until Friday again and looking forward to it. With the decorations up and all the Christmas movies and specials playing, I love to be off this time of the year.

I’m just currently sitting with the kids, eating pizza, and watching Hallmark. DH is working tonight. I hope you’re all having a great evening! I’ll bring the leftover pizza to the Pines!

Hark! Hark! What news?

So, Mrs. Bear and I watched TNBC synchronised (we live in different lands) on Halloween, which should, as you'll recall, herald the coming of myriad British Christmas 80s classics and other such yuletide frivolity. However! Somehow, i've not been able to take the plunge yet.. somehow, Scrooge still has me in hiz frightful grasp.

Having said that, i've just had "Gaudete" by Steeleye Span on, which also did feel a bit early... Perhaps the problem is the weather - currently 11 deg(C), sunny, and the leaves have barely just turned to a deep apricot, nary a carpet of leaves to be seen, the trees eagerly awaiting their deciduous purge.

We can (apparently) expect the first dusting of snow in about a week.

Happy Special Posts Day MMC! How are we here again? But we are and it's fun to read these posts every year (and I wrote 1 or 2 before myself). Always a great time of year. Two weeks till Thanksgiving. It's all coming and there's nothing we can do to stop so we better enjoy it. Have a great day!

Good Thursday morning! Up at 5am on a day off. I don’t even get up that early when I work. It’ll be a usual day of laundry, chores and grocery shopping. I’ll be getting our Winter coats and boots out to see if they’re still in good condition, just in time for a predicted big dip in temperatures next week. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Thursday morning! I work night shift today so I will be able to take Carolina to school and my mom will pick her up. Before taking her to school it will be catching up on laundry day. It shouldn't be too had since I did a small load yesterday. Mike has mandatory overtime all weekend and will have to work his normal 3 to 11 shift on Saturday and Sunday so I am not sure what the weekend will bring.
Does anyone have suggestions for little kids Thanksgiving movies? My moms classes usually borrow our movies for holidays but i dont have any Thanksgiving ones. My dad suggested Planes Trains and Automobiles but I dont think that would go over well in a age 3 to 5 year old class

Good Morning, MMC!!!! We are off to a chilly start here in Central Indy. There's even a chance of snow showers this evening and accumulating snow tomorrow morning. Wasn't it just like 90 degree's out? I was supposed to take my car in to the shop this morning. The passenger side rear window stopped working when I went to Michigan. As soon as I made the appointment though, it started working again and try as I might, I couldn't get it to act up again. So I decided to cancel it since I still have another 6 months on the warranty. I did run to the grocery this morning to get my turkey for Thanksgiving. Meijer has them for 37 cents a pound as part of their 3 day sale and I wanted to get one while the picking was good. I hope everyone has a great day!!!!!!!!

Thanks! We have so many Christmas movies/specials for little ones due to Carolinas age, but the teacher my mom works with doesnt want to exhaust the kids of the Christmas movies because she will want to show them in December.

Happy Friday Eve!! Looks like another nice day today before the cold hits next week. Typical work day for me and I need to catch up on laundry tonight.
We got some bad news last night that my aunt passed away...she had dementia and diabetes. Unfortunately, I will not be able to provide a special post this weekend as I will be out of state for the funeral on Saturday. If anyone would like to take it over please feel free..let me know and I will let Crown know as well. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Merry Thursday MMC ~
It’s going to be sunny today with a high of 55 degrees. Rocky and I just got back from our morning walk. I’m just having a cup of coffee and relaxing for a few minutes. I need to straighten up the house and start laundry. I’m going to pick my mother up later this morning, we’re going to The Christmas Tree Shop and then we’re going to grab lunch. Just need to decide where we want to eat! I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Understandable. There doesn't seem to be as many Thanksgiving as Halloween & Christmas.

Is anybody else watching Hallmark today & noticing all their programming issues?? Like right now Home & Family is supposed to be on, but after commercial it went to the middle of a movie! (2nd time this happened during this episode) This morning that happened several times. One movie would be on & after commercial, a new movie would be on - but right in the middle. Crazy - they are a little confused today!
