Is anybody else watching Hallmark today & noticing all their programming issues?? Like right now Home & Family is supposed to be on, but after commercial it went to the middle of a movie! (2nd time this happened during this episode) This morning that happened several times. One movie would be on & after commercial, a new movie would be on - but right in the middle. Crazy - they are a little confused today!

Reminds me of a funny story: Before I was married, I had TMC and Mr. didn't, so I'd tape certain movies to send to him. They were running a movie that was the first in a series of VERY formulaic comedies---they were all variations on the same basic plot. I watched the movie while I taped it, and sent Mr. the tape. He told me later that TMC had run the first four reels of the first movie, but the last two reels were from a different movie in the series ... and I never knew the difference, because both featured the same characters, same actors, and same basic plot! I think we still have that crazy tape somewhere!

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve!!! Chilly start to the day with a high of 44 predicted. Lots of frost on the rooftops this morning - almost looked like snow!

I was cut loose a little early from the new job yesterday b/c things were pretty caught up (as far as what I know how to do so far) so I picked up my Lu girl from the groomer. Our groomer is fostering a mix breed puppy Kassi - she is so cute - her & Lucy had a ball together. So now she's trying to talk me into taking her! Gah!!! I told her if she doesn't find a home by Thanksgiving when our groomer is going away over the weekend, we will take her for the weekend & see how it goes - so she doesn't have to board her. Pray she finds a home for her before then! xx

Went to Dollar General yesterday & I picked up some puppy dog Christmas wrapping paper. Love it! Kind of looks like Lucy Lu!

Good afternoon .. today is my Friday and I am looking forward to my 4 day weekend. Hoping to get a lot of major cleaning done this weekend to get things ready for the holidays. This past weekend I got all the Halloween stuff packed up and finished decorating for fall and Thanksgiving. So love this time of the year!

Happy Thursday morning! I work night shift today so I will be able to take Carolina to school and my mom will pick her up. Before taking her to school it will be catching up on laundry day. It shouldn't be too had since I did a small load yesterday. Mike has mandatory overtime all weekend and will have to work his normal 3 to 11 shift on Saturday and Sunday so I am not sure what the weekend will bring.
Does anyone have suggestions for little kids Thanksgiving movies? My moms classes usually borrow our movies for holidays but i dont have any Thanksgiving ones. My dad suggested Planes Trains and Automobiles but I dont think that would go over well in a age 3 to 5 year old class

The airport car rental scene would send them home with some new vocabulary...

SPECIAL POST DAY 5

I'm often asked why I collect Santas. I usually just say it's a tradition. My mom collected them when I was young. Her birthday is 3 days before christmas and it was my tradition to buy her a new one every year as a gift. She loved the ones that sing, dance, and otherwise do some kind of crazy thing. Me and my sisters loved to play with them and It was something we looked forward to all year long. So it just kinda became a thing. Then when we grew up and she started having health problems and was forced to sell the house, the Santa collection was one of the few things that we saved. I then took over the collection and have morphed it into what it is today.

As I've grown older, there's more to it than just tradition though. It has become about what Santa represents. It's about the ability to unselfishly give, asking for nothing in return but the feeling of joy when you see the pleasure that it brings. It's about seeing the look in anothers eyes when they are truly grateful, or the look of shock when they recieve something completely unexpected. It's about knowing that you have truly touched someone and made their life a little bit brighter than it was before.

Santa also represents the belief that anything is possible. That miracles can happen. The hope that magic is real. And serves as a reminder that just because we can’t see something, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

In a world that seems to be full of hate, Santa represents a guiding light for all of us to follow. A shining example of compassion and generosity. A reminder that it is possible for one person to bring the world together and change it for the better.

So when I look at my Santa collection what do I see? I see a goal. A way of life that few choose to live. A path to being a better person. To finding the true Christmas spirit.

So as we approach this Christmas Season, let your inner Santa shine, help make someone’s day a little brighter and put a little bit of Joy back into this crazy world.

Happy Friday Eve!! Looks like another nice day today before the cold hits next week. Typical work day for me and I need to catch up on laundry tonight.
We got some bad news last night that my aunt passed away...she had dementia and diabetes. Unfortunately, I will not be able to provide a special post this weekend as I will be out of state for the funeral on Saturday. If anyone would like to take it over please feel free..let me know and I will let Crown know as well. Hope you all have a great weekend!
