Soooo bummed I missed the countdown last night. But for good reason. We were all gathered together at moms b/c they weren't sure she would make it through the night. Yet she goes on. She seems more alert today. Hard telling what the next few days will bring.

Merry Pines Day!

I'm already searching for that Camel; I was just reminding my cat about the time Carl had a visit with us and taught him how to spit - not funny. Carl the camel wound up taking the crowd by surprise when he couldn't stand watching and not participating and he jumped into the ring with the Lippizan horses to perform for those who could see him. His pas de deux with a touch of danseur adagio while balancing that third hump left me agape. Fond merry memories.
Wonder what will be on the menu at the pines tonight?

I hope everyone is having a great night. We were listening to Rudolph on the radio today and Carolina asked me if Rudoloh was real. I said of course he just has a red nose and the others have brown noses. Makes me worried someone has made her question

When I was at the age of doubting and questions, my brothers answered all of my questions with great excitement and on Christmas morning there were reindeer footprints on the snow-packed lawn outside my window and at the neighbours across the street. Smart brothers.

Thank you so much everyone, I really appreciate the thoughts and prayers. My father needed another blood transfusion because his hemoglobin levels were low again. The doctors are running tests, hopefully we’ll get some answers. I will keep you posted.

I hope your father’s condition has stabilized after the transfusion and that they find the source of this issue soon, so he doesn’t have to spend too much time at the hospital. Sending positive thoughts his way HMG.

Good Thursday morning! It’s 4am and I can’t sleep anymore, even though I went to bed around 11:30pm after work last evening. Stuck doing a third afternoon/evening shift today due to some unforseen circumstances. And I still am training the two new assistant-managers so I’ll have to go in early yet again to try and get some work done as tomorrow is my last work day before my vacation. Snow is on its way overnight tonight and tomorrow. It could’ve waited. Have a great day ahead everyone!

Merry Thursday!
We’re expecting a wintry mix of snow, sleet and rain later today, hopefully it won’t be too bad. I always worry about the girls driving around in that kind of weather. I’m going to head out early today, I have to pick up a couple of things at Target. Back home afterward to work on the laundry and prep dinner, I’m making fried chicken, baked macaroni & cheese and roasted asparagus. I’ll spend the afternoon visiting my father in the hospital. And I’ll be watching the Islanders/Rangers game tonight. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Days to Christmas Day: 40 (Nearly down into the 30's!)

And our final Milestone of 2018?
Well, it's only 3 days away now.
The 90 percent, Home Stretch marker to Christmas Day!

Chilly and wet is the order of the day, and has been so for some time now.
Looking forward to nicer conditions for tomorrow and the weekend.
Right now, we are contending with a temperature reading of 41 degrees here in the capital city of North Carolina, with a cold rain falling.

Happy Friday Eve and a week away to Thanksgiving!! Looks like we are going to get 3-6 inches of snow and maybe some ice?? I am just working today and I think I a going to make a roast for dinner. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning MMC!

Haven't been here for a couple days – just wanted to pop in and let you all know that we had to say goodbye to Mom yesterday! She passed away around 4 PM. She's in a better place!

This morning we had ice, now it has turned to rain, expecting snow for most of the day. I hope it turns to snow soon as I am cleaning carpets and getting ready to put up my sunroom Christmas tree. Going to need some extra lights in the house on these dark nights to make me smile!

We have to meet with the funeral director this afternoon and then the priest after. We are figuring we will have her viewing Sunday afternoon and her funeral mass Monday morning. I'm glad she is no longer struggling but it stinks.
