My cousin went back to the hospital last night. The original thinking was that he had sepsis but it is actually a bad case of bronchitis. He has to stay home from work until Wednesday so that means he wont haveto work on Christmas or Christmas Eve.
My other cousin announced last week that she is now engaged to a guy she met on World of Warcraft. They speak everyday through facetime. He lives in Canada and is coming down in February to meet her. They plan to get married during the time he is here. I am not sure what their plan is after they get married. My aunt is pretty upset about it but cant convince my cousin this isnt the best idea. She is 23 and sort of does what she pleases. My aunts only hope is that if the marriage doesnt work out she will come home. Please pray we can get thru this trying time

Continued prayers for your cousin and congrats to your other cousin. I hope everything works out for her.

Good evening, friends! I'm finally all caught up on here. I can't believe it's just one week until Christmas. Time is flying by and just like a lot of you, I haven't had much time to enjoy Christmas programming or if I do find the time, I spend it with family or sleeping.

Just work for me tonight, then I'm off for two days, but then work 5 days over Christmas. Good news though - I accepted a full-time daylight position this past week and I'll be starting that shift in just a few short weeks. Most days I'll be working 7a-7p, with occasionally doing 7a-3p. I'm scared for the change, but excited too and know it's what's best for my health.

I know a lot of you have shared in with me, a lot of the health issues and fatigue I've been having go on. I had numerous blood tests done last week and my NP and I spoke, told me I had to make an emergency appointment for this week, to go over results and talk about maybe going to see some specialists. I see her tomorrow. I pray it's nothing serious, but we shall see. God is control, this I know.

I'll try to check in later or tomorrow. Talk to you all soon!
You're still getting prayers from south Georgia, too!

Good afternoon, MMC friends! Boy, a lot of has happened in the last few days and that's why I haven't checked back in.

I had my doctor's appointment Wed morning. My NP told me that my cortisol level (which the stress hormone), is low and that my vitamin D is low. She said the doctor that is in charge of the practice didn't think my cortisol level was low enough yet to worry about and is hoping that with changing to daylight, that will help. I started on medicine this past week for my vitamin D level. She is still worried that all the symptoms I've been experiencing are being caused by something, so know they are testing me for Lyme's Disease.

Anyway, I went home from work and laid down for nap, roughly around 1130 or so, then not too long after lunch, I woke up, very out of it, muscle stiff, had vomited on myself and I realized what had happened. I had a seizure. Thankfully DH was home, so I texted him as well as I could and he came in to the bedroom to check on me. He tried to get me dressed a little better and get me to walk, but I was limp and weak he had to call 911, have a ambulance transport me to the ER. They took me by request to where I work. There I had a few more seizures according to my co-workers and DH, so they gave me a few different meds to stop them. They ended up transferring me to the hospital back by my house, admitted me to the neurological floor, and put me under stroke and seizure precautions. I was so out of it, speech was slurred, and was also acting like a stroke, that we weren't letting me do anything except lay in bed. I had a CT scan of the head and an MRI brain, which were both negative, but also had an EEG to look at my brain activity and it was showing current seizure activity. They started me on a new seizure medication that I'll take twice a day. I was discharged this morning around 11. I'm feeling a lot better, just really tired. The neurologist said that I have to be off work for a week, so now I won't be working this weekend or Christmas. The worst part about the situation is that I lose my license for 6 months.

I have a history of seizures and haven't had one for 12 years or so, so last year, I was weaned off my medication. I started a new medication a few months ago and he said between that, lack of sleep, and stress at work, it's what caused it.

SO....anyway, that's been my last couple of days. I go back to work next Thursday and then I'll be off again I think for 5 days. I look forward to just resting, enjoying time with my family, and getting myself better.

I know a lot of you need prayers right now, so believe me, I'm saying them! Hope you all are having a great Friday!

Take care of yourself, and try to have a Merry Christmas!

Praying Sugar! Seizures are scary. We will continue to say prayers for you

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. I had no idea how bad I was until I was awake enough today to really carry on a good conversation and hearing how scared DH, especially since he thought I had a stroke, made me scared as well. We have a lot of great friends and a wonderful family to help us.

Sitting at my desk with one hour of work left for the year. I'm listening to Josh Groban sing "Believe" while my Christmas candle burns.

I didn't think it was possible to have a Christmas moment at work!

Love it!

Sugar you went through so much these past few days, how scary. I am glad that you can recuperate at home. I am sending you positive thoughts for your condition to continue to improve and continued strength.

I have always said Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the year. That is still true. My second favorite day of the year is seeing the Nutcracker Ballet with my husband, and we did that last night. It is our tradition to get all dressed up and go to our favorite Mexican restaurant first. Then we head downtown to see the show. For that hour and a half I am mesmerized by the sets, costumes, music, and story that the ballet tells. And of course, the amazing dancers. Seeing that ballet is my definite symbol that Christmas is almost here. I actually tear up when it ends because I know I will have to wait another year to see it again. I told my husband last night when it was over that I could see it every night and not get tired of it and he gave me that look that said "you get me here once a year, don't push your luck!!" I appreciate so much that he goes with me every year, and he appreciates the well-stocked bar they have to get him through!
