That wind was crazy!!!

I have been feeling a little lazy having this week off & watching so many movies! I'm trying to sneak in my favorites that I didn't get to watch before Christmas!! But I figure after the 1st of the year I'll be full time at my new job & I'm not sure what to expect, so I'm going to relax & enjoy!! :)

Have a great day!!
There were a couple of movies we didn't get to watch too.

I hope your new job goes well. At least you can relax a bit before it starts.

Good Morning, Still-in-the-Christmas Season Friends!
Yep. It's still here. Too early to get the blues. Wait until after New Years.
We are off to Charlotte today for the weekend to visit my newly married niece and her husband and to see their new place.
Not to worry, though. Yours truly will be back in plenty of time to post "Christmas Countdown - 2019"!
Have a safe trip Crown

They are actually going to do an angiogram on his brain as there are multiple clots in different vessels they consider it multiple strokes. He thanks you all for the many prayers.

Praying for everyone who is sick or hurting tonight and always

Sending up extra prayers for your cousin! xx

Merry Friday Eve!! :)

Thank you! A Merry Friday to you! xx

Good morning MMC!! Merry Friday! How did it get to be Friday already?? The week doesn't go this fast when you're working!! ;)

We had quite a bit of yucky rain yesterday & HOLY WIND!!! Wow did it get windy last night! Crazy wind!! Today is just dreary - woke up to 53º! I'm not too fond of that this time of year. Let it snow!!!!

Yesterday I made some veggie burger soup to stick in the freezer. It was pretty good if I do say so myself! (Moms recipe) I also added some homemade Chipotle Tomato sauce - If I'm not mistaken, the recipe came from Mekeka. Gave it just a bit of spice = YUM! If I have time I'm hoping to get a roast going in the slow cooker today - also to stick in the freezer (and to eat some too, of course! :)

This afternoon I'm heading to my friends house for our annual "Christmas Hang Out Day" - we exchange presents & have some wine & watch Christmas on tv or listen to Christmas music. Looking forward to it! Such a cozy Christmassy day! :)

Everyone, enjoy your day!!!

It was very windy out this way, too! There are branches and big pieces of dead tree trunks all over the backyard. Today was in the upper 50s and tomorrow we will be lucky to see 30*.

Sounds like you have a merry day on tap! :)
xx

The realization that Christmas is passed when I got into my car this morning and the local radio station has switched back to regular programming.Although I have hours upon hours of recorded radio to listen to it’s just not the same when everyone else moves on .

The radio station I've been listening to switched back today, also. I haven't had the radio on as of yet. :(

It's quite rainy here today. Its Mike's birthday today so we will go out for lunch and his mom offered to make him dinner tonight. We may stop in to visit my cousin also depending on how he is feeling. I am hoping to squeeze a trip to the mall in also for the Bath and Body Works semi annual sale

A very Happy Birthday to Mike!
I hope your cousin is doing better and is up for a visit!
I hope you can squeeze a visit to Bath & Body Works, too. Love that store!

How exciting!! My nephew who just got engaged is looking at a NYE wedding in Cincinnati, which would be fun - but they are finding everything costs double that weekend in Cincy!! LOL! They might be having a spring wedding! :) Hope you enjoy your day!

Oh wow a New Years Eve wedding would be amazing! I personally have found that this time of the year has been a pretty hectic time to get married. I hope my other two girls choose a different season when the time comes!
xx

Good Friday evening! Finally my work week is done and I can enjoy a 4-day weekend. I am exhausted as I was again woken up last night for a false alarm at the store. I have now requested to have the mall’s fire alarm panel disconnected from the store’s alarm system. When the mall’s fire alarm panel is triggered, I shouldn’t have to show up, there is nothing I can do, it’s up to their security people and firefighters to reset everything.

So tonight I will try and relax in between baking some treats for my family coming over tomorrow. I don’t know how much I’ll get done, I am yawning like crazy here. Enjoy a great evening everyone!

Today was a soaker of a day around these parts I mean it poured all-day-long. But, it didn’t stop me from taking all the holiday trash to the transfer station. After that, I stayed inside the rest of the day and got a lot of things done around the house.

I got the chance this morning to watch A Christmas Carol, the 1938 version. Man, I’m so torn between this version and the one done by Patrick Stewart of being my favorite. Both of them are great.

I agree about the hectic nature of Holiday weddings, although they are usually so beautiful! I chose the Saturday after Thanksgiving to get married and my sister got married the day after Christmas. Needless to say, my poor mother was going crazy for those two years! But they sure do make for fun, festive weddings!

That wind was INSANE! We lost power for over two hours because of it, and our outside decorations were quite the mess this morning! And I agree, 53 degrees in December? Just awful. This is why we have snow in April in Ohio, because it is 53 in December! Crazy weather!

Good Friday evening everyone! Not too much happening today. It was warm and rainy here but should be back to the 30's tomorrow. Those kinds of crazy temp drops are what make our sinuses go haywire! I had gone shopping at Lowe's on the 26th and bought a bunch of outdoor lights and stuff at 75% off. Then, my husband went last night without me and saw a beautiful LED display high up on one of the shelves with lighted garland, wreath, tree, candy canes, snowflakes, a projector, and a few other things. He figured out with all the parts and pieces it would have been almost $500 to buy it all, but it was 75% off, and since it was an open display with no boxes, they discounted it even more so he got everything for $70! He is good at bartering with people, haha! The decorations are really beautiful and I will put them to good use next year! I went to Dollar General and stocked up on boxes, tags and bags (and ONE more tree, as if 9 wasn't enough this year!) I couldn't help myself!! I hope everyone has a great Friday evening!

.
Happy Birthday to Mike!! Enjoy your day!
Thanks! Hope you had a great day too!

Thank you! He had a good day of yummy food.
My cousin couldn't have the one test done today because the dr was afraid of causing another stroke. After consulting with the neuro team they will do the aniogram tomorrow hopefully.
I didn't get to bath aND body works so I will try tomorrow I hope

I like the 1938 version, but mostly for nostalgic reasons. It seemed to be on a lot when I was growing up. Reginald Owen did a pretty good job overall.
My list from favorite to least is:
1984: George C. Scott
1951: Alastair Sim
1999: Patrick Stewart
1938: Reginald Owens
1935: Seymour Hicks

I won't start with the animated versions or alternate versions.
I did not watch the 1938 version this year before Christmas, but your mentioning it makes me want to watch it. I will try to do that this weekend. :)
