Good Post-ACC Championship Game Morning, Folks!
Don't know if you guys follow the ACC, but Duke took the championshp last night with a win over Florida State.

But on with our count:
Days to the Season: 241
Days to Christmas Day: 283

And Milestone marker number 5, the ONE-QUARTER POINT to Christmas Day, will be here in just 9 days. Already down to SINGLE DIGITS!
(Time is just moving too fast, Folks!)

Another bright, sunny day yesterday, the kind that makes you want to practically live outside!
This afternoon will see us nearly to 60, with a zero percent chance of rain.
Our present reading is 43 degrees, here.

Have a Simply Super Saint Patrick's Sunday, Everybody.
And I hope your weekend wraps up on a positive note!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I have some homemade soda bread and Kerrygold butter standing by for a holiday treat. We'll probably watch some Irish comedy later today.

The weekend is flying by too fast, and I'm trying not to think of another grinding workweek approaching.

Happy St. Pattys Day!

This is the first weekend in I couldn't tell you in how long cause it's been that long that we have had NO rain! Sun is shining and it's a nice chilly brisk morning .. reminds me more of a fall morning then a spring morning and I am loving it. Took my daughter prom dressing shopping yesterday and she found a nice one but it's a bit big up top and a little long so we will have it altered. Just going to get some stuff done around the house today. Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Not much going on here today. Really just a normal Sunday... laundry, school prep, grocery store.

This coming Thursday I will be taking 17 of my students to Harpers Ferry West Virginia, the battlefield at Antietam, and the battlefield at Gettysburg. It is an optional trip for the Civil War class I teach. We leave around lunch time on Thursday and come back on Sunday. It is a fun trip for everyone. The parents who go also really enjoy the trip. Even my superintendent shows up on the last day. He is a former history teacher and Civil War buff. Looking ahead in terms of the weather, it looks to be very nice for the trip. We are out on the battlefields rain, sleet, snow, or shine.

Everyone have a great day!

Oh, you're making me homesick! I grew up in Maryland, so I visited all those places when I was a school kid. Also the wax museum in Gettysburg, and the "electric map"---I wonder if those are even still there. Sounds like a great field trip. There's a lot of history there! And the weather this time of year should be good.

The wax museum is gone. There have been a lot of changes to Gettysburg over the years, mostly for the better. The newer visitors center, museum, and cyclorama are all together and nicely located. They have replanted some trees to better replicate what the battlefield looked like in 1863, and Lee's headquarters is reopened which are all great additions.

I have been to a lot of Civil War battlefields over the years. Gettysburg is by far the best preserved and most accessible. Antietam is pretty well kept as well, but there is far less to see there. I used to live in middle Tennessee, so I have been to most the the battlefields there. Ft. Donelson, a much smaller battle in terms of numbers, is well preserved, but many of the others have little to offer any more.

Good Sunday morning, and Happy St. Patrick's Day, Christmas friends!

I've been away for a few days with Elizabeth's State Literary Competition on Wednesday (they won!), and her dance competition on Saturday (they won that, too!). She's getting used to trophies and medals LOL.

Thursday was mom's surgery for breast cancer, and the doctor said it was a complete success! She still has to endure radiation treatment, but that's ok. We'll find out that schedule when she goes for her follow-up appointment on Friday.

In the meantime, it's been a great week for my family! Nancy is slowing improving after suffering the loss of her mother.

Thanks for all the prayers and kind thoughts, my friends! I think my family is doing great now.

I hope y'all have a wonderful Sunday! :D

Thanks for the update! It's good to hear that they're trying to enhance the visitor experience while keeping the battlefield much as it was during the battle. I'll have to visit again; sometime when we're back in Maryland, we could drive up there. I'm sure I wouldn't recognize it, it's been so long since I've been up that way. It used to be a beautiful drive. Have a great time!

Happy St. Patrick's day everyone. Spring is just around the corner; four days away. Getting some shepherd's pie for dinner, and I'll make some quick soda bread as a side. It's been a bit cool today, had time to run some errands in the morning, laundry, and a bit of cleaning too.

Now that the snow is almost gone, I'm finding lovely surprises buried underneath. Mostly plastic bottles and bits of paper from when we had a few blustery days. Almost time for spring cleaning outside. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

Gosh, I can't begin to describe how great today has been. Started with coffee on the deck, small fire. Doc cooked all of us breakfast. I've got some ribs cooking. The weather is beautiful and I have been able to get out and work in the yard. It has just been amazing. Here's to hoping your day has been as good!

Thank you!
The headache is gone, but I still feel a little on the tired side. (Then again, we just got through roaming around Christmas Tree Shop for a while!) Looking forward to a relaxing evening---probably movies---and a slow and easy St. Patrick's Day.

You're welcome!

I hope your St. Patrick's Day has been as slow and easy as you wished. :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day MMC! And Happy 3rd birthday to Rollins. It's cold and sunny here. Just going to do some errands and give Rollins some new toys/treats for his bday and his little friend is coming over. She just turned 1 the other day so they will have a little party together. Have a great St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Birthday to Rollins!

Happy St. Patty’s Day! Today is my MIL’s bday so we may stop over later. I am going to make my corned beef and cabbage tomorrow night. Hope you all have a good day.

Happy Birthday to your MIL!
