Up and at 'em - enjoying some java; listening to the weather in the background with a few tunes on low so my husband doesn't detect it.

Very windy today; they say it's -5 with the wind, but the gusts are up to 45 so I know it will feel cooler because it's still raining so it will have that very damp feeling.

Yesterday was wear green day to promote organ donor awareness and registry. Alex Pangman had two double transplants; the first failed after four years and the second set has been an incredible blessing for her for the last 7 years, in fact she performed with them after only getting along with them for three weeks.

I'm wearing green again today because I want to keep the conversation going at work since it fell on Sunday.

I only have 3 green tops and the one I'm wearing today is from the Slytherin quidditch team - course I was a fan of Harry's clan, but I needed the green.

Hubbins is trying new sturdy slippers to help him balance better when he's walking. We put his New Balance on for 3-4 hours a day, but they tire him out a bit, but they're the best for support and stability.

Back to the busy grind this week then off next Monday and Tuesday and closed Good Friday and doing a full day training for our staff on Easter Monday - it's not a STAT day.

Making plans with a cousin, youngest daughter of my Aunt / God-Mother to have dinner before the big caravan of music on the 15th.

Keep a merry tune in your head - and take a listen to Alex and her beautiful set of lungs that were donated by a stranger who gave her life after a her childhood and youthful battle with cystic fibrosis.

Good Morning, Good Morning!
It is the dawn of a new week here at MMC.
A week that will see us arrive at, and pass, TWO Milestone markers that just happen to be back-to-back.

First up, the latest count numbers:
Days to the Season: 219
Days to Christmas Day: 261

The 200-DAY SEASON WINDOW's distance is now down into the teens. Just 19 into the future.
And the 1/3 marker to Christmas Day is even closer, at 18 days. Barely over 2 1/2 weeks off.
(We draw ever nearer to our late-month excitement!)

Excess pollen aside, we have been enjoying near perfect weather for early April, with highs in the upper 60's to low 70's and very little rain. No wind to speak of, either.
Today is predicted to actually reach the low 80's, with rain chances both today and tomorrow. In fact, tonight and tomorrow could be stormy.
We start off this new week rather cloudy, at 61 degrees here in mid-state.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Folks!

Well, the ducks are all quacked up about the weather - the ravens are finding grubs in the trees. the snow that exceeded the 3 foot fence is down to the lowest rail, the creek is swimmable for aquatic life, it's been misty the last two days so the snow is slowly melting away - good thing we aren't flooding.

Been a hard couple of days and my plans to drop my husband off to one of the boys when I go to Toronto failed as he refuses to go. He doesn't want me driving that far.

Chatting with #2 son to come up with a plan.

The couple that I wanted to give our spare key to while I was gone have their own worries. I had no idea our neighbour has been in the hospital since after New Year's. She had brain surgery and is slowly recovering in a local hospital.

Another neighbour who actually works at the care centre (not part of our team though) will accept the key in the event of an emergency, she can let the EMS team in if I'm unavailable or too far from home. I don't want to give it to her though, I feel like I'm taking advantage of her and there's always that fine line between neighbour and keeper of the keys thing. Just easier then breaking down the door to help.

I can't be here for all the health care visits this week so I'm leaving notes for the O.T., P.T. and VON for different concerns.

The cat is getting used to the visitors (not always the same ones) and even let one pet him the other day.

Gonna chill and watch a movie. It will likely be a drama - but I should be watching a comedy.

Enjoy the evening - get ready for your week ahead and STAY JOLLY!

I hope all of your logistical ducks are in a row now. Bless your heart!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

Saturday morning I went to nearby Statesboro to a golf cart sales & supply store and finally bought a new set of batteries. Boy, they are proud of those things! But, I'm finally ready to put the cart back together. It was locked up in Jim's shop all weekend, or I would be driving it by now LOL.

We're still planning our NYC graduation trip for Elizabeth. @HomemakinGirl , how in the world do people afford to live up there?!? I'm going to have to go to the bank just to visit for a few days!:p

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

I don’t know how this younger generation of house hunters afford to live here, I worry about my own kids! I’m sure you guys will have a fabulous time, I can’t wait to hear all about your trip!

Good morning MMC!
It’s going to be cloudy here today with a chance of showers, temperatures in the lower 60’s. My daughter and I went to the gym early this morning so I got that over with. I tidied up, started laundry and walked Rocky so far. I have couple of other chores to do before I head out to run errands. Just a typical day here. I’m going to make a pot of chicken soup for dinner and American Idol is on again tonight. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!!!
xx

Good afternoon .. Why can't Mondays go as fast as the weekends do? Another weekend where I felt like I blinked and Bam ... It's Monday again. I did manage over weekend to pick up a couple stocking stuffers for my daughter to tuck away :) I am looking forward to this weekend already .. nothing planned LOL Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Monday late afternoon! After a nice weekend, we’re getting horrible weather conditions. It was freezing rain earlier today (luckily not enough to make roads slippery but cara were covered in ice), then rain all day and we could get up to 15cm of snow tomorrow. I held off on putting away our Winter gear this weekend when I looked at the forecast. Can’t Winter leave already?! It’s been a relatively unstressful day at work for once. The evening should be pretty quiet considering it’s still raining hard out there. Hope everyone has a great evening ahead!

Yesterday he had 5 falls; three of which occurred in the first 2 1/2 hrs. after waking so I switched gears and worked from home. I can't work from home today so I hope he's more steady on his feet.

The boys want me to consider a home for round the clock care, but sometimes he has good days with no falls and it would break his heart and mine if we had to do that unless there was a place that would accept me and the cat.
#2 Son is going to come on Sunday and see if he can get him in his car and bring him to #1 sons while I'm away then I'll go fetch him on Tuesday and we'll come home on Wednesday.

He is uncomfortable and embarrassed about his need for the commode and doesn't want his boys to see him in this state. Thankfully #1 son is an advance paramedic so it's the safest place for him. His wife is recovering from gall bladder surgery she had three weeks ago so she can't help much in the event of a fall, but will be home.

I reminded him that he needs to do his exercises so he can regain his mobility one step at a time and take back his way of life.

Lift us up in your thoughts; I believe in positive energy.

Auntie I am sending positive thoughts you and your husband's way. I hope he continues to regain strength and has more better days. And I hope he can spend time at your paramedic son's place while you are away, so you can go with some peace of mind.

Friends, Doc and I are taking the girls to Disney in November.

I just wanted to share that we just purchased our tickets to the Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.

I probably won't sleep a wink tonight.

That's going to be fantastic. We went as a family twice to Florida and once to the one in California. The first time around, I had somewhat mastered Donald Duck's voice and was calling out to him during the parade. Flower the Skunk from Bambi strolled up and stuck a paw into my popcorn container. I said, "Get your own popcorn, you smelly skunk!" My mom said, "Manners, dear." My brothers called me Skunkface for most of the trip after that happened.

Great memories still roaming through my mind; the girls will love it and you'll love watching them experience it.
