Good afternoon, MMC! Hope you're all having a great day so far! Today is my birthday (which I'll be honest - as I get older, I am not big on celebrating, at all!). My family is having a small get together tonight at my house and my mom wanted to I think surprise me, but DH knew I would probably frown upon that if they did, so he gave me a heads up. I'll act surprised to spare my mother. I think knowing that in just 7 years, my daughter will be attending college and realizing life just doesn't slow down, it makes me want to really cherish the years. It may sound silly or it could be just a woman thing and I may not like getting older! LOL

Anyway, I am off today, but had to still get up at 5 am to go in to work for a few hours for an education. It was only until 9 am, but I am babysitting my niece today too, so that's what I am currently doing now.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day/evening!

Easter was a quiet day for us. After church we went home and enjoyed a tranquil afternoon/evening. Leftover cassoulet for supper. It smells so good as it is heating up.

Happiest of b - days! Hope your celebration is memorable...

Enjoy the moment...My father is 87 and still plenty active. Our Great Aunt passed away about a year ago, at 103, and she was still extremely sharp. One day, her body decided it was time to go and that was it.

Happy Birthday to you. I hope this year will be a healthier one for you than what you experienced the past few months.

Happy Birthday!! Enjoy your celebration with your family!

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

I spent my Saturday shopping with Nancy and Elizabeth, then we went to St. Simons Island to meet Nancy's sister and their cousin for dinner. The blackened grouper was awesome! We got home about 11:30 pm, then I had to get the turkey breast brining for the smoker Sunday morning.

We had a great Easter with my family and Nancy's family!

Today, Nancy has scheduled both of us for a health screening of some sort, carotid artery scan and some other things, and it's scheduled for 3:30...and I have to fast until then! Grrr. Not even coffee! Just water! GRRR! I'm afraid I'll be literally growling before 3:30 gets here. o_O

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

I would say "NO" to any appointment passed 9:30 a.m.

I love counting up; I want that Seniors Discount - haha

Have a super day!

I went silent. On Friday at 7:40 a.m. I began my love-fest; with support from our grandsons on Good Friday and then our boys and their partners throughout Saturday; we supported my husband with our love and honoured his palliative wishes that were more than his last wish (as he wanted to see my face before he took his last breath); he also saw his two sons.

With tender, compassionate care, my Gary passed away at 9:47 last night.

I am humbled by the pouring of love and support and prayers and amazing positive energy flowing my way as news circulates.

About two hours before he died, I noticed the coke can was the one with Santa on it and I felt my merry kin circled around me just in time; 'cause I was exhausted and didn't think I could stay awake any longer.

Thanks for the sign; it helped me through the hours that followed.

I’m so sorry, Auntie. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
