Whitney,
Is it worth being a member of the Keepsake Club? What perks are there, besides knowing that the Dream Book has come out? :)

For $50 you get quarterly newsletters, the Dream Book and usually your choice of two of four Club Exclusive ornaments. This year they chose the two ornaments for you and also included a cookbook, ornament stand, calendar, and ornament hooks. I would have rather chosen my own two ornaments. I'm just in the club so that DH can get the first look at the Star Trek ornaments...

Morning all. Hope everyone had a good Easter. Looking forward to a catch up very soon. It's been a bit crazy this year for me tbh. I've been looking for a change of jobs and applications and interviews have been getting me down I have to say. Hopefully better times ahead.

Merry Tuesday, 'Tis the season!
I hope the perfect job finds you soon!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

Nancy and I went yesterday afternoon to the health screening that she insisted on. Everything is fine with both of us, as I figured. I think Nancy's getting a little mid-life-crisis-y on me, but if that's all that she does, I can live with it.

Later, we went to our nephew's church league soccer game, then Elizabeth cooked a very healthy and delicious dinner.

I'm about to go to a short ceremony at school to see Elizabeth inducted into the high-scoring senior club (the name escapes me). Then we're meeting Jacob for dinner this evening.

Meanwhile, the pool grows ever greener. I gotta get some free time!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Merry Tuesday, Brad!
I'm glad everything is fine with you and Nancy!
Congratulations to Elizabeth!
Have fun at dinner!

Well, I've been busy continuing the loving task of promises made which included a few notifications.

Found two beautiful urns; I decided to keep some of his remains in one that has a cardinal perched on an off-white egg that will be sealed and set up on the memorial display table and will nest on my hutch before and after the event.
The other is a small wooden box with etched carvings that will hold the ashes to be scattered.

I met with my boss and told her I was thinking of returning tomorrow; she urged me to take the rest of the week off. As purpose driven as I am; she's right.

I stopped by the Christmas Store and bought three special gifts to help tell a few stories about the simple things he enjoyed at Christmas; ornaments I never saw in time to give him.

I'll visit with my dad a bit tomorrow before he heads out of town.

The venue I wanted isn't available; it's happening on the Canada Day long weekend so there are some weddings and things I may have to contend with.

I decided to have the gathering from 4:00-8:00 p.m. that way some of the immediate family can continue to celebrate his memory and make new ones together in private.

Oddly enough, returning his meds to the pharmacy for safe disposal and dropping the urns and marriage certificate off at the funeral home was as tough as it could be as I realize that our government will soon deem me a widow.

Number 1 son checked in with me an hour ago.

This song kicked shortly thereafter.

I'm trying to keep a merry thought in my head

Good Morning, Friends.

Danger! Danger, Will Robinson!
Two major Milestones approaching!
Danger!

Well, we will deal with that "emergency" after we calmly review today's numbers:
Days to the Season: 204
Days to Christmas Day: 246

The rapidly approaching Milestone markers are, as you well know by now, the One-Third point to Christmas Day and the 200-Day Season Window.
The former will arrive in a scant 3 days and the latter in 4.
(They are indeed dangerously close!)

Quite pleasant here yesterday, with a high of 73 and still the low humidity. Plenty of sun too, with no rain.
Today will see us soar well into the 80's, again with dry conditions.
Our opening temperature reading here this morning is 54 degrees.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!
Thanks Crown! Happy Post-Easter Week!

Hope things start looking up for you, ‘Tis.

Morning all. We had a nice Easter with the family and most of the leftovers are dealt with. There's a little bit more ham to be taken care of, so I'll have to think of a nice dish to use it up.

Good news. My SIL works for Hallmark and she told me that they have released the new Dream Book for 2019 already. Just click on the link to have a look.

Canada Post came out with some cool stamps too. Canadian desserts.

They all look so good. I'm tempted to get these for our Christmas card exchange, but these are only good for domestic mail. Still, it's cool to have something different than the usual stamp.

Took the dog for a nice walk this morning. We go to a little forested area so he can go off leash. Well, he found a nice wet spot with mud and dead leaves and had a good roll around. Needless to say he smells a bit. Oh well, he's happy and it's just a wash away from cleanliness.

Have a great Tuesday all. I'm off to run some errands and maybe make some of those desserts. :)

I’ll have to check the Dream book out! Thanks for the heads up !

Happy 8 Months till Christmas Eve MMC! Just amazing we have reached the 4th month since Christmas Eve already. Wish time would already slow down a little. Today we have a beautiful day scheduled with highs in the mid 60s and sunshine. Cooler than yesterday but still I'll enjoy those temps. Have a great Mid-Week Pines Day 8 months till Christmas Eve!

Merry Pines Day MMC ~
It’s going to be another nice day, sunny with temperatures in the mid 60’s. I’m going to take Rocky for a walk in a little bit and then he has a groomer appointment. I’ll run a couple of quick errands while he’s there. Back home afterward to work on some chores. I’ll visit my parents this afternoon. I’m making spaghetti & chicken parmigiana for dinner. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day. See you tonight!
xx

Good Morning, Milestone Meeters.

And we are just about ready to meet not one, but TWO Milestone markers on back-to-back days.
The exciting news will be presented following the daily count briefing, as follows:
Days to the Season: 203
Days to Christmas Day: 245

And those binary Milestones are almost upon us.
The One-Third Point to Christmas day will be here THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW.
The 200-Day Season Window will arrive the very next day.
(Hold on, Folks. We are in for an exciting ride!)

Pleasant was the order of the day yesterday. Doesn't get much better than this for late April: Brilliant sun, no precipitation of any kind, little to no wind, low humidtiy and near absent pollen.
Totally perfect? Well, almost.
I saw the first of our annual crop of mosquitoes this afternoon, just as I sat down on our front porch to review the mail. (I knew it was too perfect. There had to be a catch.)
It will be warm again today, which has begun with a temperature reading of 64 degrees.

Well, Guys. 'Pines Day is here once again. The last one of April, would you believe.
Better get there today while the flowers are still in full bloom, and try a sample of Carl's spring-themed frosted fired twinkies with a tall one of iced tea, while you're at it.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

We attended a Hospice remembrance ceremony yesterday afternoon, in honor of my mother-in-law. After that, we all met Jacob for dinner. Then Nancy and I took him to Walmart to re-stock his junk food stash.

I hope I can get back to work on the pool this afternoon. It's starting to look a little sketchy again. o_O

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Merry Pines Day +h

Speaking of which - the crematorium handling my husband's remains is called The Whispering Pines - picked that one over the other one on purpose because it's so close to Shispering Pines where we gather weekly to see what shenanigans that three-humped camel is up to and enjoy some merry fantasy time.

Stay jolly!+i
